The ironic thing is that Winks would normally have been playing in a match like this tonight, but he is now an inegral past of the first XI.
Also you have to remember Poch for some reason just doesn't seem to do cup games. He has been knocked out the league cup three seasons in a row now in home matches. He scrapped through a cup game with Wycome last season, lost at home to Palace the year before. Not sure why he cannot handle cup football. if he is going to rotate, at least try to keep a stable back four and goalie. No reason why Lloris could not have played tonight.
I dont think the rotation was the problem I put it purely down to attitude

If that's the point you were making fair enough, but it seemed to be more about the chance of winning the tournament than the way we went out of it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Firstly its the dreadful way we went out of this competition. No team should lose when they lead 2-0 at half time particularly to a poor team.
Secondly yes it does grieve me that we threw away a good chance of reaching a cup final. We have a young squad that really needs to win something to keep them all together to stop other teams picking them off.
Look at van persie for instance. He was not satisfied with CL every year and an outside chance of a trophy. He wanted to win something.
If we do not win anything in the next two years then you can kiss the likes of Kane goodbye.
We stood a good chance of winning this trophy and thru the attitude of the players and bad managment we threw that chance away.
So yes I am damned angry and IMO so is any other genuine supporter
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have not seen the match since TV where I am did not deem it important enough to feature.
However, reading the reports I have to agree with everything Grand says here.
However, I wanted Kane rested. The team that Pochettino fielded was well capable of beating Wet Spam. Dunno wot went wrong second half, but it seems like a mental let-down. "game won". Spurs are beginning to believe their own hype perhaps?
Anyways, where was Vertonghen?
I've a feeling he was the player we missed the most.
Finally, on a positive note, I'm glad we're out of this stupid cup, we should be focused on bigger things. But we should have gone out on a more positive note!
I have a problem with Poch's post match comment. Hard to keep motivation following Madrid and Liverpool? WTF? If a team isn't motivated after two great results they may as well give up.

That’s not a winning mentality and a stupid thing to say

This match thread is priceless after a defeat, so many overly emotional fans, it's just a game
Not just over emotional after defeat though, someone posted an article claiming they had a lump in their throat after a draw with Madrid.
