Exactly the reason the thread doesnt deserve the one star ratings

This is getting very confusing we're all talking without saying who we're talking to ....This thread in itself is fast becoming a sport in it's own right

Squid...why would admins care what rating this got?

Bit sad you rate an.article on stars and not content!

Golf requires a good level of fitness.

To walk 4-5 miles and take.some heavy swings...100's in my case takes a lot of fitness

ADMINS

please name and shame the 1 star wums , TBH due to the excellent comments of ALL the contributor's this has been a great thread so why anybody would give ratings like that is beyond me.....I dont mind what ratings they give me but it's not fair on the fans of all the different sports and clubs who have posted on here

...............

That's the comment I made , TBH I thought it was fair

Golf requires a good level of fitness.
***

it does...(except John Daly, but he doesn't have to carry his own bag)

as far as mental fitness goes.. there are few sports that demands as much. You have 3 opponents in golf. Your opponent, the course, and yourself.

Your pick of poker player is fine he certainly is one of the best but is he a Phil Helmouth or a Dan Negrano ???

TBH I thought it was great to get a Poker Player mentioned

I expected to have untold shouts for Mohamed Ali or Pele but Federer got the most ....Is this down to the ages of the posters which is fine after all how can you put up sportsmen who you've never seen play in a live situation .....

Just want to thank each and every one of you for some great comments and VERY sensible debate

Cheers

ali was a great, great heavyweight and also a great man of great principles and has influenced many changes for the better in america, my pick for federer is purely on sporting achievements, it is widely accepted that ali wasnt THE greatest boxer of all time as that honour goes to sugar ray robinson, whereas federer is for most THE greatest tennis player of all time and is a sporting hero of mine.

I love poker as to whether it's a sport or not is up for debate

You need to be fit with all the stamina needed

The Bookies bet on the outcome of tournaments

You need to be skillful to win

It is shown on sky sports (bit lame that one

TBH mate until we are provided with a definitive explanation as to what a sport is we'll never know

Good comment and well done for explaining why , everybody has to has a different opinion on subjects like this otherwise sites like this would be pointless

Daddy the real mental sport of poker is trying to explain to the Mrs why you have 50 quid less in the joint account than you should have

1/ Sachin Tendulker
Finest batsman I've ever seen, absolute class

2/ Clive Lloyd
What a player he was for Lancashire in the 70/s, just destroyed bowlers

No footballer gets even close to similar legendary status,it's all about the money rather than the game

Floyd mayweather for me. Not the greatest guy in the world, but an unbelievably good boxer. Poetry in motion. And the united shirt in the build up to the hatton fight was classic!

Afternoon

Do you think that the quality of the performances can over-ride a nasty streak ????? Tyson and many others are sporting greats but are badly tarnished by outside events

posted on 8/9/12

Squid - absolutely mate. His badboy antics are mostly for show anyway. Nothing like tyson. I have no doubt that history will remember him as one of the best boxers to ever live.
