Can we include the points played in CL
Potatoes won't be even in top 25
Yes, points are given for draws as well....just work it out:
2pts for a win, 1 pt for a draw.
The order of the table doesn't change if you award 3 pts for a win.

I'm guessing this league doesn't take into account United from 1888-1902 when we were Newton Heath. Fair play to Liverpool for being on top but I think that is largely due to the fact United didn't enter the league as Manchester United until 1902, 14 years after the beginning of the league.

manutd1982,
yes it does actually. This includes ALL results from 1888 onwards: when Utd were Newton Heath; Arsenal were Woolwich Arsenal etc

Not trying to move the goal posts, just understand the data, not unusual for you to jump to the wrong conclusion however the link doesn't seem to work for me s I can't check.
More interested in what happens next weekend to be truthful, history is ok but its long gone.
Link doesn't work. How come no-one else mentioned this?

The Link doesn't work for me, it does not mean it won't work for all. though. Where you are loggging in from can affect it and maybe some haven't felt the need to look at the detail and are happy with the headlines (which is not unusual).
Your welcome Gav, just an observation.
Fair point JFDI.
Still doesn't work though.
Re: questions v Statto.com.
Statto has added 3 games for this season (fair enough).
What I think Statto has done is to use mix 2 pts for a win and 3 pts for a win to get his total pts.
This skews the record in favour of modern clubs which doesn't show a fair comparison - any comparison ought to show like for like (hence the use of a straight 2 pts per win).
It's meant to show the overall performane of teams in the top flight, not give a false benefit to those in the modern era of 3 pts for a win.
Anyway, I've just used the website which I've linked on the OP. It seems a good way to do it to me.
All time 'Away' table -
1. Arsenal 95 1934 628 523 783 2602 - 2968 1779
2. Liverpool 97 1934 627 514 793 2434 - 2840 1768
3. Manchester United 87 1756 615 462 679 2585 - 2844 1692
4. Everton 109 2126 570 538 1018 2524 - 3585 1678
5. Aston Villa 101 1959 522 484 953 2492 - 3546 1528
6. Chelsea 77 1566 439 406 721 1946 - 2658 1284
7. Tottenham Hotspur 77 1564 428 406 730 1881 - 2564 1262
8. Newcastle United 81 1618 393 420 805 1879 - 2789 1206
9. Manchester City 83 1677 380 435 862 1976 - 3009 1195
10. Sunderland 81 1575 375 346 854 1923 - 3023 1096
Got there in the end - went to the top (http://www.rsssf.com/) and worked down
amazing what players can do when they travel to grounds that actually have an atmosphere, aye Henrys cat?
only clubs with no recent success care bout the past
but like in football as in life people who live in the past are generally not happy in the present
Only clubs with no history say it does not matter.
I think it makes interesting reading myself. It's not finite, I think we can all agree on that, but kudos to Everton.
henrys cat wake up. this isnt the emirates
"Only clubs with no history say it does not matter."
Although, in fairness history means something to every club, and every club's fans - it's just the sort of fan those clubs with more recent success attract that don't care about history. There's a word for those fans, can't think what it was now....
Is there any per decade slant on the stats ??
Would be interesting to how clubs no longer in that top 10 rose and fell over each decade.
Fans of clubs with recent success challenge the "historians" because as you rightly say Cat, fairness history means something to every club, where as the "historians" try and deny it.
