I'm sorry, you'll have to say that again. I've read it three times now, it's giving me a headache.
It might make more sense if you review what you said, if it doen't then I am sure you will cope regardless.
Its more that those who throw the word 'history' around tend to have no idea what it actually means.
This table shows Spurs are not only in Arsenal shadow but also in City shadow.
"Fans of clubs with recent success challenge the "historians" because as you rightly say Cat, fairness history means something to every club, where as the "historians" try and deny it."
I would use "pedigree" rather than "history".
The latter is for the entire existence of a club, the former might be more intermittent.
Derby County are 16th - **** YES!
Im not saying a club should not be proud of theor history i was born in 85 realisticallt only really started properly supporting chelsea in maybe 93 when i got my first kit
For me its not important what we did before i was born as i dont share in that memory and cant relate
Its the people who say chelswa have got no history thatmakes me laugh because those types of people are choosing where history starts.
They also dont seem to understand that clubs can also make there own history
So therefore in my lifetime chelsea have a rich history of fa cups champions league cup winners cup league and premier league titles
"It might make more sense if you review what you said"
Are we talking about a missing comma here?
"Only clubs with no history say it does not matter."
Well done for showing yourself up as a gloryhunting plastic
The ironic thing is we were always at the right end of the table in the 60's and had a better team than Liverpool until they got investment from god knows where.
"Its the people who say chelswa have got no history thatmakes me laugh because those types of people are choosing where history starts."
More often they are just joking though.
"They also dont seem to understand that clubs can also make there own history."
It's hard to imagine who else would make it..?!?

Pedigree, interesting.
A pedigree dog or horse for example implies pure bred, undiluted by another breed or other impurities.
Given so many of our clubs have moved grounds, locations, changed names etc, few can truly claim pedigree.
Me I think people that want to talk about history or pedigree are trying to smother the simple fact that they simply don't like a given situation at a particular club and have to design something to beat them with whilst trying to claim that isn't what they are doing..
Galv, you created a monster the other day.

Pedigree is not about location.
So for example :
The Poool have a recent UEFA Champions Cup pedigree (late 70s to now) .
The G00ns have a league title pedigree, in that they have won it throughout the decades. Compare that with a club who had such a pedigree, but it ended 80 yrs ago etc.
And of course, have you seen my baseball?
----
Hi Fatso..No, i haven't seen your baseball. Ask Stacey...
So what you are suggesting is that success in a certain field = Pedigree, again interesting but it appears to be the same way some justify history.
Same result, different method.
Chelsea fans really do not like it when this sort of thing comes up. They really shouldn't rise to it - you have a top club with a rich history, get over it.
Not a bad article but the title is wrong and the point you are trying to make deals with just one element of history. The number of points achieved.
To actually see who the real powerhouses of English football, a table of trophies will suffice.

What are you talking about, boy !!??
History is a record of all things, good and bad.
Pedigree is a notion of some trait of goodness, possessed or admired.
All football clubs have a history.
In terms of regularity of/and success, some (not many) have a pedigree.
RDBD, it's not difficult, you can't see what I mean because you think you are being clever when really you are thinking along the same lines as many others.
Pedigree is a notion of some trait of goodness, possessed or admired you say?
That is fine but to suggest that it's cups or titles that defines it is just the same as suggesting it's cups or titles that defines history.

Actually as a Chelsea fan, I love it when this comes up and am always happy to discuss it.

Hmmm, not sure I'd describe what you're doing as 'discussing it'.
