its not used about hillsborough, its just a bit innapropriate to chant it 2 minutes into the first game after the truth was revealed about hillsborough
It's not, it's about Suarez and the racial abuse case, it's just because it's Man United that the media jumped on it last weekend when it's been sung for a year.
Also SAF said he didn't hear it but people in the Directors box did.
Lets be fair, it was a stupid time to sing it.
Do you really expect everyone to believe that your fans sing a song that soley refers to Suarez, when it contains a lyric that says 'always the victim, never your fault'.
Why the 'always' part then ?
What would that refer to ?
Pretty disingenuous stuff if you ask me.
And yes, I did 1 star this silly article.
What would that refer to ?
...........
Heysel I suspect.
Didn't Suarez say "Why me, why am I always the victim" or something similar?
jlou you can believe what you want, but ask yourself why they've been singing this for over a year now, since the Suarez/Evra incident, and not since 1989 or since last week?
I'd say you're early twenties Elvis....am I right?
jlou1978 - first off I could not care less about 1stars.. But more importantly there are loads of munich and hillsborough chants out there. When have you ever heard those chants been sung by a large number of fans inside the stadium in the last few years??? Serious question. If they were about Hillsborough then they would not be sung so openly...
Only a couple of weeks ago, at Goodison, united fans were singing 'if it wasn't for the scousers we could stand', when a stadium announcer asked them to take their seats.
Only a couple of years ago, a spirit of shankley christmas party broke out into a Munich sing along, with a guy on guitar and everything.
We can all point score.

Well I have been a season ticket holder for the previous two seasons and I never heard those kind of chants, nor at any away games I have attended although I have heard (and sung) the always the victim chant by a large majority of people!!!!!
They were having a great time Mexican, all under the name of the great Bill Shankly, bet he would have been impressed...
Love it to stop but it ain't going to happen as there are too many idiots out there for all clubs! But most united vile chants towards Liverpool is about heysel but it doesn't make it right. Also united have had 50 odd years of munich chants and not one thing has ever been said about that! But in the end hilsbrough wasnt there fault and they were the victims... I just hope our 2 great clubs can bury the past and be above it all and show great human compassion!
Only a couple of years ago, a spirit of shankley christmas party broke out into a Munich sing along, with a guy on guitar and everything.
Remember seeing that on YouTube, Shankley would be turning in his grave
Why did you put the question mark up for Heysel then Elvis?
Because jlou asked what the song could refer to other than Hillsborough. Try reading the thread.
"We can all point score"
I rather wish you wouldn't...
I think that song is about Hysel as much as anything.
Funny how the media have hyped this no end, yet in the week after it has been proved that the Hillsborough tragedy WASN'T the fault of the Liverpool fans in attendance, why would the United fans sarcastically sing "Always the victim, it's never your fault"?
Besides which VICTIM is singular, if it was about 1989, which it's not, they'd sing VICTIMS plural!
Media, and ABUs jumping on this, utter r tards!!
nWo
Are you brainless or what? Which single/one of the Liverpool fans are you singing it to then? Even if some people are referring to Heysel then which person among the thousands of Liverpool fans are you referring to by using "victim" rather than victims?
Think before you actually comment. And you sound really stupid since your manager himself condemned it. Is he ABU as well then?

I think you will find that nWo is referring to the fact that majority of United fans sing this song towards Suarez - so singular...
However I do not think that many football fans have too much concern over grammar when chanting abuse so not too sure about that argument!!!
