Hopefully it's not FIFA 11 where it was so broken there was no point playing it. Had no bearing on how they played, the biggest growth was by like 1 every season and the biggest drop was by 1. Didn't matter which player it was or how they were performing.
'Do young players actually grow in height as they get to their 20's?'
Assuming they're sticking with the same system then they grow once every year. I think they grow from 14-16, although it may have been up to 17 or 18. I haven't played in ages. I remember I was worried my keeper with 90+ potential was about 160cm and he grew in a couple of years to 190cm I think 16 is the maximum age.
Needn't have worried though as I never got far enough in for him to become first choice because the game broke. Brilliant work EA.
"Also what about when you just want a quick signing? Like just a short-term back-up GK, anyone will do type of thing, or if a player gets long term injured and you're lucky enough to be in the window. Don't want to spend weeks scouting a player just so you can make a bid."
Doesn't that replicate the risk of real life transfers? He could be good or bad, panic buying
I'm guessing you'll know something about the player even without scouting him.
What Career Modes are people interested in doing next year? Considering the new leagues (Argentinian, Chilean, Colombian, could still be more)
I'd like to do one in South America, something new. Get Deportivo back in the big time, if there is the Conference, Cambridge, if not maybe Portsmouth. I think I'd also like to make a team from a smaller league into a decent force, maybe Young Boys, or a Turkish of Ukranian team if they make the cut.
Standard league 2 team into CL champions career
Don't really doing a career in a small league like Switzerland or Denmark because it doesn't take that much work to become dominant
Schalke, duh. Arsenal. Maybe Zaragoza or another team from a European second division (Ligue 2, 2. Bundesliga, Serie B?). South America finally worth choosing, no idea on a team yet.
'Standard league 2 team into CL champions career'
I see lots of these on YT, and it's quite boring how they all pick the same players (this year the likes of Benzia). Think the new scouting system would be good if it makes it harder to get promoted three times in a row which isn't too unrealistic in itself, but it seems very easy as most people do it.
Yeah in the lower leagues you can just spend most of your budget on 1 marquee signing then just bring in a load of free agents and loan signings which suddenly put you at the top of the league
That's another thing actually they need to fix the free agent system. You can bring in a load of youths with 90 potential each year for free on 1 hand and then the other you have loads of highly rated players on 1 year contracts yet they never become free agents because they seem to automatically sign a new 1 year extension
In real life there are a lot of squad changes, loans and short-term contracts in League 2. Hereford are in the Conference and they've only got about 3 players who were there a couple of years ago. It'd be quite difficult to implement all those changes though.
A triangle has more points than schalke
I have a weird soft spot for Young Boys () after we played them. They had a nice kit and cool fans. I'll get them back their glory days. The new fan animations will help motivate me, I want to see them go craaaaazy
Career Modes with Tottenham were more fun when we weren't very good
Right, so my thoughts on the new features.
I like being able to queue up the emails and read them when you want. I like the emails, they help with the immersion, but it did get quite annoying when they slowed down the already labourious advancement. I like 'disable first summer transfer window' as well, adds realism.
I like the new transfer system. As well as being more believable, hopefully it'll be more rewarding to sign players.
'Reject all offers/disallow future offers' doesn't really affect me. I can make my own decisions, and every now and then I'd make a counter offer for a player that I wanted to keep that was too good to refuse if they accepted (e.g. Farfan to Barcelona).
In a nutshell, the player growth sounds better, although I'm just as concerned with individual stats as overall growth. If everyone has 90 pace then it'll get quite boring. Similarly, I hope youth players have more realistic stats and skill moves. Good to hear they've added more commentary features as well.
Along with the new leagues and teams, these features are all well and good but whether I'll get it still depends on how well the game plays and whether it all breaks again.
I don't get how it adds to realism surely you'd be more likely to be backed in the first summer transfer window than any other time as a real manager
He means if you want to use the same squads as in real life
Yeah I mean what KentSpur said. I tried to stick with the default Schalke squad at the start but other teams still made lots of transfers which didn't really fit in.

Although I said to you I wasn't really bothered about Argentinean leagues, TBF if they got that and a few other South American leagues they could have a CL type thing as well, so you could actually have an alternative to Europe. Maybe we could even get CWC, I assume they have a competition for the MLS and Mexican League. Wouldn't mind seeing a few more Asian clubs. Could at least get semi-finals of CWC.
