It's all a cunning plan by Levy to get Bale to stay and sign a new contract.......
Levy to Bale ....Do us a favour G sign a new deal
Bale to Levy .....FFF after you stopped me seeing little Chantel Gwen being born , no bloody chance ...Now if you had let me off the Chellsk game I'd of signed one
Walker did great for us last season after his baby came along. Not sure what the real issue is here

Maybe he does not react in the same way than he did under Harry?
There will be some players that won't respond in the same way.

Ridiculous statement and completely selfish from your pov. What if his girlfriend had complications with her labour? She would need bale there more then spurs do.
No class at all

agreed and an angle i didnt consider... probably due to me never being in that situation.
if that means i lack class then so be it... we cant all be the royal family....
i consider myself a reasonable man who has a big family who are important to me, so i dont see why me stating the above opinion makes me classless

you are a voice of reason on here...
am i being completely out of order feeling let down by Bale today?
i understand his point of view, but i am actually seriously seriously thinking that if it was me in that situation, then i actually think i would have played and then gone to the hospital... but then i love spurs... for better or worse
You can't blame another man for being there for his mrs when she's about to have his child.

Yeh Bale not playing was the reason you lost........Just remind me what the score was last time he played against us?

What a di.ck!

Sorry mate, but you're being harsh on Bale.
The reason Bale wasn't playing was because he wasn't in the right frame of mind - completely understandably so, given the significance of the events in his personal life. And to be frank, those events mean more in the grand scheme of things than 3 possible points on a Saturday do.

i just wondered if its only me... or maybe i am being totally unreasonable?

Sorry but I don't get that - how would a manager affect the way a man deals with becoming a dad? I'm sure him seeing his kid being born and coming back a happy dad he'll be fine.
We have no reason to believe otherwise, and recent precedents to show it can actually lead to good form.

Ripleys cat.. my favourite poster on ja606......
i understand what you mean....
however i genuinely believe that had i been in that exact position, i would have played
that is where my disappointment stems from.
plus we lost which didnt help
Like I said above I'm not having a go at you.
But unless you have been in that position then you cannot comment on it.
Having my first child, my son, was the most important thing in my life.
Now we're getting somewhere.. I'm sure if we'd have won this wouldn't be an issue.
Fair enough it's a gripe but hardly an outrage or act of disloyalty.
Chronic, I thought I was your favourite poster

fair enough.
i dont know why me not being in that position means that i cant comment on it though....
conversation across the world would be halved if people only spoke about things that they had experienced themself...
i just wanted to get it off my chest and was interested in what others thought..
it seems i am massively in the minority, which is fine with me...perhaps me judgement has been distorted due to disappointment at losing a game that bale could have made the difference in

A chap on the radio the other day said that he sees Bale quite often as he lives a few doors away from his Mum , he said that he's a real nice guy always happy to chat to the fans when he's out with the family , don't forget for the Welsh fans he's Beckham , Rooney and Bobby Charlton rolled into one ...........TBH he seems to be a real nice young lad who cares about his family and is pretty happy with life , I'd of been very annoyed if we hadn't let him go after all today is over now and we don't have to deal with a peed off superstar next week
Ok good point of course you can comment on it, BUT you miss the understanding about how much of a big deal it is to have a child.
That's all, but I can see your just upset you lost today.

i am disappointed that bale didnt play because i genuinely believe that had i been in that situation then i would have played, thats all..
its different for everyone..
but its all ifs buts and maybes.. unfortunately i will never play for spurs, but one day hopefully i will have a baby
however i genuinely believe that had i been in that exact position, i would have played

Fair enough. From what I heard earlier, it wasn't so much that Bale wasn't prepared to play despite his partner going into labour, it was rather that the management made that decision for him - his mind (completely understandably) was elsewhere, so it was them who decided that he shouldn't play.
I could be wrong on that though.
Anyway, Chronic buddy, how you doing?
IT LOOKS LIKE I AM ON COURSE FOR THE RECORD NUMBER OF ONE STAR VOTES
I haven't had kids either but you said if it were you you'd have played.. well you don't know that.
perhaps me judgement has been distorted due to disappointment at losing a game that bale could have made the difference in
