Dungeon..will we buy Beckford in January ? Well if it was now the answer would be yes. Come another 14 games and maybe we'll see if he has maintained his enthusiasm and goalscoring.
As for the price..it will probably be 'undisclosed' as blooming usual, but I'd say we might go as far as £750k...assuming he is still 'doing the business'.
How much are you asking ?
If Beckford keeps playing as he is then it all comes down to his wage demands. If he is willing to take a drop to fit into our wage structure then I'd be willing to part with £2m presuming he keeps playing like he currently is. However, if he's wanting wages in excess of what we're willing to pay then the fee for him would have to drop accordingly.
How much we're asking is an interesting question. I'm not entirely sure of the fee we bought him for - it's probably somewere between £2m and £4m (starting at 2 and then rising to 4 should certain conditions be met). I know that what we got him for shouldn't have a bearing on what we sell him for, but I'm not entirely sure that the guys in charge of our club, while I think their hearts are in the right place, have a proper grip on the 'right' amount for transfer fees.
My best guess - and it can only be a guess - is that we'd be looking for £2m for him, but like a car boot sale that would be a starting price. With FFP it would appear to be important to get him off the wage bill, although that might be balanced out by wanting to leave the option open to get more for him in the summer if another club was interested. If there's no other interest, we /may/ go as low as £1m, although this would be a genuine effort to get him out the club and off the wage bill and would almost certainly go down as "undisclosed". Again, this can only be a guess and I wouldn't really want to see him sold for less than £1.5m as I think he's worth it. (Just not to us, it seems.)
Wahey, Tez falling out with fans from other clubs ! I dont believe it, Watch out now Dungeon dweller, He will be stalking you on the Leicester board.
Jordan Rhodes will be a smashing player who will score goals anywhere, Am not going to knock him, He will get better and better, Though Rovers was a bad move imo, As for comparisons to Stewart, Vaughn etc, They are all different, JV and JR would have been a good partnership,, Watch Rhodes goals Dungy, Most are right in the corner just out of the goalies reach,, He will be a player for a top team at some point, Due to the way he plays he does not seem to suffer injuries which is a boon for whoever he plays for, He wanted to go, We got mega bucks (on paper, We aint recvieved it yet, Goodness knows what happens if Rovers go belly up),
As for Cas saying "good riddance", Strewth, His ex Boyf Benicio Agrafobe will never be as clinical as Rhodes nor is he a patch on a fit JV (Cas,s new squeeze).
if beckford hasnt asked for a transfer and leics want to sell him then the rules are they pay his contract up in full even if he,s got 3 years left...so theoretically he can agree a contract with town and be quids in with the money banked from being paid up!...if he has asked for a transfer then he forefeits getting his contract paid up in full!
Beckford has done the biz so far and it looks like Larrys cuddles are doing the trick, I wouldnt want to pay more than a million though considering his age and wage demands, If Leicester want more i would tell em to heff hoff.
As said elsewhere i wouldnt hesitate to pay Delias mob 3m for Vaughny, But i would tell Ho90yley to go and head hunt a top physio to keep him in shape.
the only way leics can save any money is to keep him out on loan with the other club paying his wages...they could say if your not buying him then we will loan him elswhere but they are fooked either way!
beckford will come for less wages knowing he,s had his contract paid up in full and a fee of around 1m will help leics to pay him off!
May be that's why Pearson made the comment that Beckford "wanted to go".
Do you really think we'd let a situation arise where we'd have to pay off Beckford's contract for him to leave??
Anything over £1m and I'd be happy for him to go. But will he be happy to take a wage cut assuming he doesn't get this amazing pay off from Leicester?!!!
I think we can all agree, the worst case scenario is that he ends up back at Leicester after Jan...
thats how football contracts are at all cubs...as a player it helps to get transfered a few times without requesting a move...and why the likes of say rooney get signing on fees every couple of years so they dont miss out and move around a lot....if he has requested a move then your ok and wont have to pay him up in full!
as far as im aware he requested a loan for first team footie not a transfer...either way you lose out cos if he comes back in jan he will down tools to force the issue!
bryce.... theres just too many sensitive types who cant handle a bit of banter everything i say is tongue in cheek and these sensitive types bite like a lion with a pork chop .
dungeon, youve not wound me up you bored me. the thread was going great until you got involved and i made clear my thoughts on the beckford situation as i was quick to engage with the article creater.
as it stands if hes playing well i expect a transfer fee to be around 1 million. ok for you sweetheart?
You made a very strange impression of someone who was "not wound up but bored". I advise you work on that if you want to progress your career in advanced bantering.
Even so, I acknowledge my mistake. I thought you might be interested in a civilised conversation. I solemnly withdraw.
Blimey, never expected so many comments over a little article.
My bottom line is that Beckford see's his future away from Leicester and seems to be having fun in Huddersfield. If we can get a decent transfer fee then I think everyone involved will be happy.
Up the Foxes!
Also I'd like to think most people's comments are purely banter - no ill feeling intended
any quotes of things i wrote that gave away me being so called 'wound up' ? bang em up. carry it on
if ur like me who cant be harrised arguing then dont bother.
upto you

I hope Beckford does well for Huddersfield for me he has the poachers stroppy attitude and some great skill.
It just needs to be utilized imo and you seem to be doing that.
I have forgiven Grayson for leaving Leicester for a bigger club Villa and want him to sucseed you never know when we might need another good manager.
Finally bug the hell out of Leeds and lets hope we are not in a play off final together after we have sold you Becky.....you know how that story ends!
I think it's a sign of how far we have come, when we can hold a conversation with the likes of Leicester City fans, and treat it like we have been playing at this level for years.....
I mean to think that people are talking about us playing in the play off final to gain promotion to the premiership is just weird....
After 120 minutes of football in last seasons play off final, and having missed our first 3 penalties, who'd have thought we would have reached a rediculous position of 3rd in the chamionship at 1/4 of the way through the season......
And to think if Beckford stays or goes in January, we will simply replace him like for like using the £8m we got for Rhodes.....
Happy days...Happy Days...we've waited a long time for this
