to be honest i'd never ask stretty's opinion on anyone.
if he doesnt like a player he doesnt like a player, regardless of how he performs.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Well, we're in a cul de sac then, arguing for the sake of arguing
Okay Dunc
Do you watch the reserves?
no disrespect red side
---------------------------------------------------
No offence taken Dunc.
I'm just giving an honest opinion like I do on everything. I say what I see.
no... but thats not the point... dont assume
I have to say, on the whole, we are the most polite bunch of debaters i've ever met
no actually i do watch the reserves, not as much as red side but enough to form my own opinion.
i wouldnt judge bebe on a couple of performances when he first arrived at the club.
has he looked world class for the reserves.. no he hasnt, but i think he has done enough for them to maybe considered as an option on the bence from time to time for the first team, the same as macheda has been, or wooton.
i watched a couple of pre seaon friendlies before the start of the season, and bebe actually looked decent at times when playing with top players scoring one and assising one for kagawa.
looking at that wolves game and a double substitution was made to try and change the game.
Harvgreaves injury forced a change from the bench and fergie's midfield options were to either put scholes on or move park into the middle and play bebe. He chose the inexperienced option, probably not wanting to give Scholes a decent run in, and looking at the squad, we were resting a few big names.
However the score is 1-1 after Wolves have equalized and a change is required, Fergie goes for a double substitution, taking off O'shea for Scholes and a striker for Bebe to force the victory. It can't be easy trying to force the win with hardly any game time not everyone gets a dream winner like Macheda and Fergie probably felt it would be better to take off his most inexperienced player to save him from abuse. It was a game the lad was clearly not ready for unfortunately and if United were still winning the game I'm sure he would have stayed on the pitch. As it was we won the game.
I don't think Bebe was given enough time.
Whenever we sign someone new, everyone uses the "He'll take time to settle in" line, but this wasn't the case with Bebe.
He came from living under a bridge, to Old Trafford...massive change.
Maybe he should have signed for City, it would have seemed pretty close to home.
Fair enough Rodellega.
I am fully aware he was not ready for the game and it shows how bad he was that day they he was re-subbed even though according to your analysis we could have easily taken Obertan on the other wing off with the same result.
I feel sorry for the guy because he has come from practically nothing to practically everything and do admire how he's at least somewhat adapted.
Even though I very much doubt he has a future at United i'm certain he does had a future in football but not sure which level.
(I read that back and it does sound patronising but that's not my intention)
Do you really think he's done that well this season honestly?
---------------------
I have it on, but haven't paid as much attention as in previous years, as I have a killer project on..... But overall, he has impressed me in the rezzies.
I was at the Crawley game and was pretty annoyed when I left
Bebe wasn't just dreadful, his attitude was dreadful too. He literally made zero effort and trotted about the pitch as if he owned it
I would expect at least a modicum of effort from a guy wanting to impress
I remember how annoyed Sir Alex was after the game regarding the young players and I had to agree with him. It ended Obertan's United career and I wouldn't be surprised if Bebe follows him in the not too distant future
Totally the wrong attitude so far for me
Not saying he won't make it but gotta say I have pretty big doubts.

or macca could it be that he was just overwhelmed with the whole thing and was a bit like a deer caught in the headlights??
like i say, from living in a church somewhere, to having 70k people staring at you must be pretty intimidating.

Didn't come across that way. It 'appeared' to be more of an arrogant approach to the game. 'You're only Crawley but I am Manchester United'
Off the ball the guy was just wandering around seemingly without a care in the world. I can't ever remember leaving OT so annoyed after an actual win and Bebe was a big part of the reason

Been away for a bit. I shall explain a reasoned view of why I think Bebe is not going to make it at United.
1. Having watched him over a fair period of games, I don't think he is at United's level.
2. At the level he is at, he is not going to usurp RVP, Rooney, Wellbeck or Hernandez.
3. I do actually think he has more going for him than Macheda, but that is another debate.

People live in churches now?
Man, there have been so much informationa nd mis-information about the character that is called 'Bebe'.
I hear Bebe once wrestled a tiger just to eat for the night.
Bébé is the son of Cape Verdean immigrants and is the fourth player of Cape Verdean descent to join Manchester United; the others are Portuguese international winger Nani, French international left-back Patrice Evra and former Swedish international Henrik Larsson.[5] He was given his nickname, which means baby in Portuguese, by his older brother.[6]
Bébé was abandoned as a young child by his father Francisco and his mother Deolinda. He was consequently raised by his grandmother in a suburb of Lisbon, until the age of 12, when a court placed him in the care of the church
1. Having watched him over a fair period of games, I don't think he is at United's level.
---------
he hasnt had a fair period of games though VC
he has made 7 first team appearances, mainly subs and scored two goals, hardly a run in the first team.
Yes, being placed in care of the church doesn't mean he lives in a church.
Anyhow, you clearly know more about the issue than i do.
