Ireland is the most successful country in the contest, with a record total of seven wins, and is the only country to have won three times consecutively.
Ireland's seven wins were achieved by Dana with "All Kinds of Everything" (1970), Johnny Logan with "What's Another Year" (1980) and "Hold Me Now" (1987), Linda Martin with "Why Me" (1992), Niamh Kavanagh with "In Your Eyes" (1993) , Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan with "Rock 'n' Roll Kids" (1994) and Eimear Quinn with "The Voice" (1996). Johnny Logan is the only performer to have won twice and also wrote the 1992 winning entry. Ireland, who also finished second with Sean Dunphy (1967), Linda Martin (1984), Liam Reilly (1990) and Marc Roberts (1997), has a total of 18 top five results.
Can't even make the final line up nowadays
Since the introduction of the semifinal round in 2004, Ireland has failed to reach the final seven times, and has twice finished last in the final, in 2007 and 2013. Ireland's only top 10 result in the last 13 contests (2007–19) is Jedward's eighth-place in 2011.

The 2015 United Kingdom general election was held on Thursday, 7 May 2015 to elect 650 members to the House of Commons. It was the first general election at the end of a fixed-term Parliament. Local elections took place in most areas on the same day.
Polls and commentators had predicted the outcome would be too close to call and would result in a second consecutive hung parliament that would be either similar or more complicated than the 2010 election. Opinion polls were eventually proven to have underestimated the Conservative vote as the party unexpectedly won an outright majority, which bore resemblance to its victory at the 1992 general election. Having governed in coalition with the Liberal Democrats since 2010, the Conservatives won 330 seats and 36.9% of the vote share, giving them a small overall majority of 12 seats and their first outright win for 23 years.
The Labour Party, led by Ed Miliband, saw a small increase in its share of the vote to 30.4%, but incurred a net loss of seats to return 232 MPs. This was its lowest seat tally since the 1987 general election. Senior Labour Shadow Cabinet members, notably Ed Balls, Douglas Alexander, and Scottish Labour leader Jim Murphy, were defeated. The Scottish National Party, enjoying a surge in support since the 2014 Scottish independence referendum, recorded a number of swings of over 30% from Labour, as it won 56 of the 59 Scottish seats to become the third-largest party in the Commons.

The Liberal Democrats, led by outgoing Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, had their worst result since their formation in 1988, holding just eight out of their previous 57 seats, with Cabinet ministers Vince Cable, Ed Davey and Danny Alexander losing their seats. UKIP came third in terms of votes with 12.6%, but won only one seat, with party leader Nigel Farage failing to win the seat of South Thanet. The Green Party won its highest-ever share of the vote with 3.8%, and retained its only seat. Labour's Miliband (as national leader) and Murphy (as Scottish leader) both resigned, as did Clegg. In Northern Ireland, the Ulster Unionist Party returned to the Commons with two MPs after a five-year absence, while the Alliance Party lost its only seat despite an increase in total vote share.

When I began writing speeches for Democratic candidates in the 1960s, politics literally smelled: a fog of cigarette smoke and the reek of half-eaten cheeseburgers impregnated the air of offices in which we toiled. Your standard Democratic party pol had a union card and drank beer rather than wine. Today the office smoke has been cleared by law, an army of budding young politicos virtuously order healthy salads at their desks, and the more sophisticated among them have cultivated a taste for foreign cheese.
The Arizona cheese crisp, which might sound like a trivial hors d'oeuvre, is actually a staple appetizer in Tucson. Known here simply as the ‘cheese crisp,’ they were traditionally sold as a precursor to the main course but have since evolved into a standalone dish in their own right.
The idea is simple. Take an open-faced flour tortilla, deep fry it to a crisp, and smother it with several kinds of cheese (mild longhorn cheddar, cotija, asadero) before broiling. Don’t confuse it with a quesadilla, however. There is much more artistry that goes into the paper thin crisp and it’s not as elementary as it sounds. Chefs have learned over time what cheeses to mix, contemplating those that melt better than others. Some chefs have mastered the art of piling on secondary toppings while maintaining construction on the delicate flour base.
I want this in my arteries.
