You support Chelsea, Fulham and Arsenal interesting...

During that period of success we bought players approaching their peek but now all the investment has been made in youth and players under 21 which bodes well for the future but a little painful at present. but soon we will be masters of the universe

In my opinion any real Chelsea fan doesn’t care how they play as long as they win.

Pretty good. I like how in your opinion you give a large set of supporters opinions.

inasmuch as Chelsea had an identity then, it was imperative the club changed the style of play, in order to attract more fans and generate more income, cos not many people enjoyed our physical style of play back then...change was inevitable.

Hahaha its so easy to get this WUM tag. I'm flattered anyhow.

You think I'm a WUM, Arsenal think I'm a WUM. Fulham will to next.

Its even more funny because I'm actually being serious. I really think Chelsea's effective identity has been sacrificed to shadow Barcelona which is a ridiculous plan.

There must be an explanation.

You're kidding right????? Chelsea's boss like identity which has been killed for flair this season attracted a huge number of fans. Not because of the style of play but because Chelsea are winners. I will go as far back as 2007 and since then everywhere I go from London, Egypt, Toronto, Thailand you see Chelsea fans everywhere. All you need is commercial and on field success to attract a huge fan base and bigger revenues.

Chelsea (strong and robust talented bullies)

------------------------------------------------------

Could you be more stereotypical ??

Did you even watch Chelsea in the 2009/2010 season under Ancelotti when we won the Double by scoring a Premier League record 103 goals in a season ?

Obviously not.

Wasn't my intention to stereo type. I just found it hard in that instance to come up with a better description of the identity.

Oh yes I did see the 7-1 vs Villa 8-0 vs Wigan, 7-0 vs Stoke?

Chelsea were still 'robust bullies' but robust bullies that could hammer teams at a canter . The identity of Chelsea is that they were strong and could bully teams that while also using thier talent as I aslo stated to score how ever many past them.

Stop being sensitive lad, I'm not trying to wind you up. This is actually my opinion which I feel is a credible one at that. I'm actually full of high praise of Chelsea's longstanding identity for the past 7-8 years so can't see how I'm a WUM unless you're just paranoid.

Can I ask which of my sentences has irritated you to consider me a WUM?

OP is right. Our planning is all over the place. Buy players if they're flavour of the month, hire and fire managers on a whim, buy players at the wrong time, get rid of players at the wrong time. Our board probably thought, buy 3 or 4 no10's and we'll be halfway to becoming like Barcelona.

At last!!! A serious comment which is what I've been craving as opposed to my intentions.

You really are Mr Chelsea.

Mr Chelsea >

If that is the OP´s point then I totally agree.

I´ve said before that I´m struggling to understand exactly what the long-term plan is or if we even have one - certainly when it comes to transfers and loans.

How does it work supporting all of Fulham, Arsenal and Chelsea ??

Just wondering seeing as you talk so much about having an identity.

That is basically what I'm trying to say.

If you try and become Barcelona, who play in Spain, different climate, different pace etc, then you have no plan. I think the creative trio are excellent long term signings for Chelsea but it still doesn't balance out the squad if you fail to replace midfielders in Meireles and Essien.

Plus as I said, identity. Chelsea had one and I was in admiration of that. Believe it or not even neutral fans respect Chelsea's identity behind closed door as at the end of the day it was a winning forumla.
