Yes, true Wassa, my point was more to emphasise that as they have now shelled-out 60M+ they HAVE 'invested' and are NOT really, as 666 put it: 'non-investors'.
666, It's a new year now. Why not change the tune and welcome Nigel's efforts and show some appreciation of where it's got us.
You'd be most welcome to join the positive brigade. Show your true character by embracing the new style at Derby.
Your change of heart would be seen as a very positive sign
Just to say lads, I got told a little bit of info today. Tom Glick will be returning with a £7.5mil for Will Hughes!!! Watch this space.

Are GSE and/or Clough perfect? No. However I really can't see a lot wrong with the following:
1. January and only 3 points away from play offs
2. Fourth round and a potential FA cup run in the offing
3. Playing pleasing on the eye football
4. A young squad which can only improve
5. All of the above with a reduced wage bill and a sustainable business plan.
I know which end if the A52 I'd rather be.

Larry, also, and more importantly, don't forget our total domination of the BC trophy in recent years!!
Yes, Ramdini: that's why I don't rate Your Nige, because the date was wrong
Wassa, reading the various reports today, seems like we've put a £10m price tag on him and want him to stay till end of season as well.
Great - that's cheered me up
Larry,
A couple of key players sold and a couple first choice players out with long term injury, could knock Clough right back to square one.
Peeder lets hope they do hold on to Will Hughes, for the right price. Don't forget though, this is GSE we're talking about!!
I don't want to get into a conversation about them, at the end of the day, I don't like them, and I think they're bad for the club.
It will take huge bollacks from GSE to turn down that kind of money.
If we end this window with Hughes still here not only will I be a dutchman but I would have to say GSE are serious about building this club.
GSE are serious about building this club.

Hopefully Hughes has a sensible head and good people around him because to sign for Man City at this stageof his career would be terrible. An established Prem player like Scott Sinclair can barely get a game. Hughes would not play any first team football for years and he may never recover from it. He's better off staying put for at least two more seasons. Or moving to a better Championship side of course
Rameses like I've been saying for the last couple of years is all GSE want to do is asset strip. everytime we get a decent player through, he'll be sold, and we'll be back to square 1 hoping a young player will come through the accademy. Well played to Darren W, also well done to Nigel C for giving these players the opportunity. cracking goal by Mason Bennett yeaterday.
He will go though.
He has to. If he stays we would have to negotiate a new contract where he would instantly become the highest earner at the club by some distance. This will unsettle the squad who would all want to negotiate new deals. If GSE are serious about promotion they will have to invest heavily in players wages which is the exact opposite of their strategy so far.
So ergo Will Hughes goes in this window.
Wassa, as I say I'm not their biggest fan by ANY stretch but surely, how do they expect to ever get a return on their investment by not building something, increasing it's value, and then selling for a profit? They are not in this for us or the love of all things DCFC that's for sure!
Cherry picked part of my comment there Wassa. Not what I was saying at all.
Baz, the only way GSE are going to get their money back, is if they sell the club, I've been hearing all sorts of rumours about potential buyers!!
Wassa. we were typing at the same time. You say all they do is asset-strip. With the exception of the catering rights (sold to Delaware for 5M reputedly) what else have they stripped?
If they intend to get their money back through 'breeding' and selling young players through the academy (whilst having to add @7M a year to cover operating costs!) they'll be waiting a VERY long time for their investment back!!!
..other than getting back to the prem - which we'll have to 'build' to get there...
what else have they stripped?

players who wanted to stay at the club had to leave cause they were on ten bob a week, (Moxey)
Even if you get back to the prem, why would anybody pay more than they did to buy your club? They would need to make you into an established prem team to turn a profit, unless they are willing to cut their loses.
