ratings - the season so far

He deserves nothing less than a 7 but could push an 8 if people were nice.

Maybe some people want to be nice about other players ratings?

I think Carrick has done enough to get a 7 so far.

Carrick has been very good since the start of November. Considering he always starts slowly, the guy is reverting to type. He deserves nothing less than a 7 but could push an 8 if people were nice.

so by your own admission carrick has been very good for 2 months, and average at best for 3... tell me again why he "deserves" to start or deserves an 8

I understand that but had they performed as good as they could have then a lot of people would have gotten 9's.

I'm not saying they should (except RVP).

Maybe a numerical system is flawed.

What about categories.

Excellent --

RVP
Hernandez
Rafael

Good --

Carrick
Cleverley
Evans
Evra

Okay--

De Gea
Anderson
Rio
Giggs
Young

Disappointing--

Valencia
Scholes
Nani
Welbeck
Kagawa

Well, it goes without saying that he deserves to start but as for getting an '8', he hasn't just been good since November but he has been excellent and his run in form coincided with our biggest games of the season.

Along with RVP he's been great in games. You rated Anderson a 7 (same as Carrick) but he's barely played this season!
Either drop Anderson a mark or raise Carrick one.

I'm only gay for Carrick and Christian Bale.

I'd rather just be honest.

How can you rate Carrick as "good" - as opposed to excellent - and then score him an 8/10? An 8 is "excellent" in any book...

I don't think anyone in our squad deserves 8+ apart from RVP, Hernandez and Rafael.

de gea - 7
Anders L - 6
Rafael - 8
Evra - 6
evans - 7
Rio - 7
Smalling - 6
Valencia - 5
young - 6
carrick - 7
clevs - 7
ando - 6
Rooney - 6
kagawa - 6
Hernandez - 8
welbeck - 6
RVP- 10

Good point. I just think that from the beginning of the season only RVP, Rafael and Hernandez have been excellent.

In a few months come the end of the season if people keep up their current from i'd add Carrick and Cleverley to those 3.

Rob chatting rubbish as usual. They're his ratings, your ratings are always terrible.

Young - barring two or three decent games - hasn't been any better than Welbeck or Kagawa. Neither have had the deplorable few games Young put in when he first come back. Injury will get taken into account for that.

Giggs has not been 'okay', either. His league form has been embarrassing, hence we've lost nearly every game he has started. See Scholes.

There ratings really do need some context. Welbeck, for example, has played in his favoured position on about 3 occasions. To say he's been disappointing isn't really fair when you consider he just isn't being used correctly. Throw Hernandez on the wing and we'd be having similar discussions.

Here comes Cabescudo to bring a dark cloud to proceedings.

You do understand what banter is?

Kagawa

Giggs has been far from 'embarrassing'. He's done nothing wrong in the games he's started to have such a rotten insult thrown at him.

Of course he's not amazing but he's a solid performer. Other players played in the games we lost with Giggs so you can't blame just him. Also, how many of those games were missing Rooney? Probably a lot of them.

When Rooney doesn't play we do seem to struggle. Giggs or no Giggs.

Giggs has not been 'okay',

.................

What clot thinks Giggs has been OK?

And what ever clown said it, don't reply with SAF. We know how his judgement has been clouded by loyalty to Giggs and Scholes.

Equally your judgement is clouded with such an anti-Giggs way of thinking. In recent weeks he's been very good but you won't dare admit that.

No it isn't. I have no problem with Giggs, if he is played the right way. Sadly SAF has only played him the right way a few times this season, last week being one f them.

I guess you are the said clot.

Rob

Rooney playing is irrelevant.

When Giggs, and Scholes, starts in a two man midfield we play slow, horrendous football, have zero drive in the centre of the pitch and the defense is offered ZERO protection. Our defence is and will be fine. It's just played too many games sat behind 40 year olds.

On a purely footballing basis, only Valencia has looked worse than Scholes and Giggs this season.

I'd lump your namesake in with those 3 as well.

Giggs has started a game in CM on 4 occasions this season.

Liverpool
Chelsea (cup)
Norwich
Braga (CL)

We won 3 of those with Giggs scoring twice and setting up 2 goals.

Giggs shouldn't be a regular anymore but it's a myth to say that if he plays we lose.

Kagawa

Firstly, they're not 40 year olds so please stop that weird campaign of misinformation and remember that last season both those '40 year olds' played and we beat the vast majority of teams we came up against and deservedly so.

The difference between this and last year? Our wingers have been very under par.

Had our wingers played better this season then we would have more points and probably conceded less goals from actually going forward rather than losing the ball on the wing and having to defend more.

Rob

We lost two of those.

And Giggs was crap in the Liverpool game, which we only won because they played with 10 men for half the game. and still dominated possesion.

VC

My bad. I meant to say that we played well in the Chelsea game. Giggs and Anderson were a very good 2 man CM.

And everyone played crap in the Liverpool game. Nani, Kagawa and RVP were worse than Giggs in that game.

We conceeded five goals you idiot. We did not play well.
