One of the major problems with me for the 8/8/8 is that you may never get promotion and with the majority of the money likley to stick with the top 12 then they will get stronger each year making it more difficult every year for the bottom 12 to make the breakthrough.
At least with 14 you get promotion guaranteed and it should be on the proviso that we are moving towards a 16 team league.
In fairness to tommy it doesn't take a rocket scientist to at least work out how a 14 team league would work though seeing his attempt at sentence construction I can undersatnd why he is struggling.
Another week on the life shapers course will do him the world of good
So basically you all like this idea because it works better for Rangers regarding getting promoted?
First off -and I quote "The plan has been described as a 14-14-14 set-up on the club's official website but no in-depth detail has been released."
Something tells me Stephen Hawking was not consulted on this "proposal"
So lets look at this a little bit closer 14 teams playing each other a minimum of twice-possibly,,,then maybe splitting ,,then a team has to take a sickie-unconfirmed-for further structural analysis of this proposal see the team that designed the Tacoma Narrows Bridge
Grenn gives everything he says a lot of thought. ON the topic of league reconstruction I doubt he gives two effs.
He wont have to live with the consequences of anything that comes from them. Its just maximise the product for his bosses
Tornado , are you trying to be deliberately thick?
If this model is introduced for season 2014/2015 as any league reconstruction should be then Rangers do not get back to the top flight any quicker.
In fact 12/12 using rule 85 and the Stranraer precedent gets us back to the top division quicker.
Most fans see what has happened to Rangers as a chance to revolutionise Scottish football and have reconstruction that benefits all.
Of course you still get folk like you who can't see past self interest and hate.
as I remember it 14 team top division set up was what was surveyed and was by miles the best option from the fans
But then for some just the fact that Rangers have backed/proposed it will be enough to change.
Deliberate thickness is a strategy used by many a celtic fan these days

Strange that this is the proposal that Charles "where there's muck there's brass" Green is going for eh?
Its almost as if he has made his statement about the league reconstruction, been harranged for an proposal of his own and went for the most popular one with no foundation or detail to back up the 14-14-14 idea...
Not that I am saying he is only playing to the galleries you understand...
Most Tic fans will only back whatever Lawell says.
Strange really...considerin these self same "thick" cants have;from being lawyers, accountants and tax experts, morphed into a collective of elbow-chewing imbeciles
IQ's have definitely dropped since the summer....maybe it's S.A.D.

It is strange that you find it strange.
A CEO supporting the proposal already supported by the majority of fans (those surveyed)
Strange right enough that .

Or maybe he is testing the theory that if Rangers state that this is the best way forward, despite previous popularity it will suddenly become unpopular.
Of course you still get folk like you who can't see past self interest and hate.
Bluedonger the self interest is coming from Green, the quicker he gets TRFC to the top tier the more money he can make. And he will shout and scream ,tell anyone that will listen TRFC have been shafted by all of Scottish Football and they alone can save the game. He has all the answers to all the ills-The All singing, all dancing snakeskin oil showman rolls on.

PS what does Jabba The Propaganda Minister think of this?

Not talking about getting up any "quicker" but you said yourself with this format - promotion is guaranteed for someone , in the other format promotion may not take place for anyone . Simply asking if this is why you have more preference over the 14-14-14 set up?
I like what the SFA have proposed already , i like the idea of this mini league of a possible 4 being relegated or 4 being promoted ......thats my choice
If its decided that we go with the current proposal will this be another "punishment" towards TRFC?>
We're all just arguing about what colour of lipstick to put on the pig. Pointless.

No, sorry Blue you have to be able to write first.
Why has Green not came out and slated his own proposal considering the outcome for Rangers is the same as 12-12-18/8-8-8? Rangers will still playing in bottom tier against majority of same teams.
A 14 team top league was my favoured idea a while ago. It would have to be an 6/8 split in top league so teams don't have a free weekend and more games for bottom 8 will make up for missing our on top 6. I don't know if 14 team league would work for lower leagues as it couldn't be a 6/8 split and a 7/7 has its problems. Would a split actually be viable in any tier but the top one?
I actually like the idea of the 12-12/8-8-8. It has it's problems like the sporting aspect of starting at 0 points after 22 games and there also could be no relegation ever(or 4 teams a season) but I think it would create interest and increase crowds for most teams. A 14 team league doesn't really do that, that just mean a game or two against a different team or two.
