You might do well to remember that this whole thread was started by a City fan who chose to have a dig at United for supporting FFP whn the fact is that the majority are in support of FFP.
You' also do well to acknowledge that the OP linked an article written by a bitter blue, the sole purpose of whcih was to have a pop at United as though the whole point of FFP is solely to benefit United.
United being a "topic of conversation" is one thing but trying to make out that United are the only supoprters of FFP worldwide, and that the only reason we care is that we are jealous of City, and then coming onto the United board to print this drivel, smacks of petty bitterness among your fans.
I've never even been on the City Board. Not once in my life. I've seen you here plenty of times though...
The thread was on both city & Utd boards for comment from an article from the Manchester Evening News.
What is wrong with posting an article from the local newspaper that affects both clubs on both boards?
Obviously both sides will be poles apart but I don't see any issue with debating with the opposition,I believe it's quite popular in parliament.
Clearly you are bristling with indignation that a journalist has had the audacity to question utds role in the premier leagues chairmens attempt to bring in FFP
and that supporters of the champions have commented on the said audacious diatribe.
But I'm the bitter one
Hey ho
Most reasoned City fans will accept the report in the article is recent with a heavy anti-United biased.
It's got more flaws than the Eiffel Tower.
The Eiffel Tower is flawless.
Boris don't start - I'll wipe the flaw with you.

Clearly you are so blinkered that you are incapable of spotting a piece of City propaganda written by a devout City fan.
If you genuinely believe that was a good piece of journalism worth a reasonable debate then you are either thick as pigshite or so biased that you are incapable of a debate of any description.
And yes, you are clearly the bitter one.
My annoyance is purely down to the stupidity of some of you lot. Your annoyance is bitterness against United, pure and simple.
Being an arrogant doesn't make you superior in any way...

Stuart Brennan, a 'devout City Fan'
Finally Dinky Binky is showing his true colours...
In the event that your brain is incapable of conjuring anything sensible, resort to calling me an arrogant "smiley face".
You are correct - that is not what makes me superior. The fact that I am clearly more intelligent and objective than you is what makes me superior.

I've offered one numerous times misty, the problem is that neither side seems willing to see the other point of view, instead these threads always go the same way, where hypocrisy runs rife throughout the whole of it.

I actually like to think I'm pretty open minded about it. With these sorts of things as a football fan rather than a UTD fan

Exactly. I put forward an explanation of why I think FFP is preferable for football - and smaller clubs - than the sugardaddy system. And I would stand by that even if United is suddenly bought by a sugardaddy. The likes of bumbling Boris are clearly only interested in what suits City. Yet the whole point of the article/thread is to accuse United of being selfish. It is precisely that stupidity and hypocrisy that gets up my nose.
I even said more than once that FFP is far from ideal for anyone - just that it is a step in the right direction for football.
How about you read the rest of my comments instead. Then you might understand my point without fixating on one sentence as you clearly don't have a valid argument to address anything else that I said.
----------------
This comment is way too presumptious of you. This kind of debate has happened several times on here in the past, and my posting history is littered with examples of how I feel about it.
My point was however clear. Such extortionate inflation rates have gone on in football pretty much since the game's conception. Certainly in regards to transfer fees, and in regards to wages since the early 60s (since the abolition of the maximum wage). The biggest percentage increase between any two consecutive seasons occuring between 1996-97 and 1997-98, which saw an increase of just over 28%.
The period between 1988 and 2002 saw the highest sustained percentage increase in wages (an average of approx 20% each season). Then the percentage increase actually dropped from 2002 to the present day with a year on year average percentage increase of around 9%. (One year (2004-05) the average wage actually dropped (from £651k in 2003-04 to £630k in 2004-05).)
The slowing down of this growth (which begun in 2002-03 and has remained at a slower rate ever since) coincided with Abromovich taking over at Chelsea (June 2003). We should therefore conclude that, because the percentage increase year on year over the last decade is around 11% lower than it was during the 14 years before that, then "Sugar Daddy" type owners are not the cause of the wages rising year in year out. There simply has to be another reason.
Another point you made was that "So many fans don't appreciate that it is precisely this sort of market distortion - particularly wages - that cause ticket prices to increase."
Between 1989-90 (when the Taylor report recommended all-seater stadium) and 2011, the percentage increase for tickets varies from a 400% increase at Aston Villa, to a 1025% increase at liverpool. The actual wage percentage increase during the same period is a staggering 2694%. Yet, completely reversing this trend, since 2011, the average wage has increased by just under three times the rate of inflation, while ticket prices have increased by more than 5 times the rate of inflation.
So in the last year, clubs have increased ticket prices at a higher percentage rate than they have wages.
How can anybody who continually uses the word 'sugardaddy' expect to be taken seriously.

Boris that was a desperate reply if I ever saw one.
redmisty, I've no real need to speak as sitting back whilst you make a total arsé of yourself has brightened up what has been a dull and miserable day.
A few pointers...
Try mentioning the old favourite "What will you do when your owner gets bored"
Add some "What will you do when the oil runs out"
Sprinkle on a little "Your stadium is never full"
Finally introduce a drizzle of "You have no history"
Voila, the perfect recipe for confirming you're a total nobsock.

Binky,
Your juvenile attempts to score petty points do not make me look like anything I'm afraid.
In addition, I have never said any of those things that you listed so why did you bother? You speak enough crap already whithout attempting to talk crap on behalf of other people too.
You are yet to say anything sensible on this thread and now you are literally having an argument with yourself. I guess it's the only way you can win one.
You enjoy that.

VC,
That's really offensive to little oiks.
Hello city fans. Can I gauge your reaction to ffp if United were bought by Bill Gates, and he promised £100 billion to the club?
