Crespo was not a great success but was a good player, just didn't work out.

Arsene Wenger has never made a loss on a player. Which effin amazing after the load of dross we have had in recent years.
The first loss will be on Arshavin and with Arshavin's impact in his first season, we would have not qualified for the CL that year.
Amazing fact abt Wenger.
-----
Wenger rarely spends big on players and Spurs are the same in that respect.
I believe Reyes is your record signing at 20m?
City paid 25m for Adebayor didn't they? What a flop he was
Andy carroll 35 million gotta be the worst ever. At least Torress was kinda worth 50 million at the time.
every Liverpool transfer (excluding Suarez) in the last 3-5 years

-------------------------------------------------
Was worth 25m just for the celebration against Arsenal

Torres is worse not only because he cost more but has been given games to find some form.
In Carrol's defence BR didnt want him, and Kenny benched him quite often.

That's because you can't sell them and loan them out for the rest f their careers.
In pretty sure you will have lost a lot of money on Gervinho, Giroud, Diaby, Denilson, Santos ect by time they have rinsed you for their high wages and left for nothing.
Kaboom Bet the City worker wouldn't agree after getting a bottle smashed on his head
I believe Reyes is your record signing at 20m?
----------------------------------
£12.5m + Addons which equated to abt £18.5m.
And we sold him for £12.5m to Real Madrid, again breaking even.
Alen Boksic, forgot about him.

Who is your record signing? I thought its either Cazorla, Arshavin or Reyes.
Agree with Santa Cruz ...... and also Wayne Bridge a Hughes signing ... what you have to take into account as well is he gave them 5 year contracts so were still stuck with them!!
And you can't have made money in the likes of Wiltord, Van Bronkhorst, Reyes, Eduardo, Hleb...
Ralph Milne was Fergies worst signing by his own admission.
Not massive money but a lot for someone who couldn't actually play the game.
I think Cazorla is our record signing and before him it was Wiltord
how much was francis jeffers?
fox in the box
Hleb - how the hell he ended up at Barcelona ill never know.. and then from Barcelona to Birmingham this thread is hilarious
how much was gervinho?
i sense a constant theme here. arsenal getting mugged off with player after player
I think Cazorla is our record signing and before him it was Wiltord

And even then its peanuts compared to what City, United and Chelsea have spent.
I think Wenger has money to spend but is so used to not spending it he then finds it hard to buy big money players.
Owen Hargreaves was a good signing with a sad outcome, but he did contribute well to a League and Champions League double.
The one that stands out for me at United is Kleberson!
