Just for information, this is Wigan's first choice team, showing the back three preferred by Martinez. The front three are more mobile, with Maloney usually playing behind Di Santo and Kone.
Al Habsi
Scharner Caldwell Figueroa
Boyce McCarthy McArthur Beausejour
Di Santo Kone Maloney
Stam, Jones, Espinoza and Gomez also regularly appear in the first team.
Caldwell, McCarthy, McArthur and Maloney are all Scottish, although McCarthy has opted to play for Ireland. Wigan have also been successful in signing players from Latin America.
Last week, 10 players were away on international duty, including Di Santo who won his second cap for Argentina in a 3-2 win in Sweden. Kone has just returned from playing in the African Nations Cup with the Ivory Coast.
Reply from Clibbens...." no plans 4 that. We have many routes 2 raise issues &have voice. I think our track record, listening+acting is first class."
Jacko, ask him if we will get any more loanees in
I think the place oh the board would be more interesting if their was something gain financially out of it.
Forget the Patrons,HTSA and Blue and White Foundation. Merge them all as one and open a place on the board in return for a certain amount of money per yyear for a small return in shares
He could have Clever Dicked You Jacko and replied with a ~ But we have a fan on the board (lifelong too) ~ His name .. Dean Hoyle..
This is not to make light of your campaign, indeed it seems a worthy one to me .. I would ask do you know of any such example situations at other clubs ..
Precedents such as that (particularly if they stand up to some decent scrutiny) can help stiffen up your proposals.. Is their any way of your finding that out .. ? .. ..
As for Your Standing Area Crusade Darn (& don't take this the wrong way) I do think you maybe labour it on here a bit too long and hard .. For many it becomes a 'turn off' and what that means is you need (in perhaps the same way that Jax has done) to try and find a new slant or angle etc .. and then hopefully ~ 'Report Back To Us All' as Jax has done on any such progress ..
Creativity is the name of the (making sure you get more on Board) Game .. I know its heartfelt stuff Jacko but do be quite careful and sensitive as to how your fellow men/women are perceiving it ..
I have your best interests as a Great well thought of Match Poster at heart here m8 .. and hey tis only my view buddy .. ..
I believe Brentford have at least 1 fan on the board to represent a fans group.

Wethers, I think he's fed up of me tweeting him .
HTAFC only want to hear what they want to...there is a lot of good stuff they do, but engaging with the rank and file isn't achieved by isolated meetings in one or two locations.. The website is carp, it has a Fans Section on it...which covers...
Schools partnerships
Club Partnerships
Charity Partnerships
Junior Fans
Our Lotteries
Community ...(school kids and Town family stuff)
Disabled Supporters
Supporter Groups..
...this covers Patrons and the last entry is 4 weeks ago and an HTSA entry from July 2011 !!
So where is the 'fans' stuff...no message board, no ask the club...feedback on fans concerns etc...
Twitter and Towns' Facebook page is about it...oh, and the club peeping into DATM and JA606, ??
but, that's what the club want...and they think it's all okay..and I'm getting into a grumpy old man...and maybe I'm out of touch....?
Bootsie, you are quite right of course, and I do know of a few clubs who have a fans rep on the board...so it's not virgin territory.
The main problem is 'apathy' ...amongst the fans. The same fans who moan about the 'Morgue'.
This may be a managed situation as a result of crafty exclusion by HTAFC...it's easy to demoralise via exclusion. I don't mean to go on, but I just feel if Lillis has identified how to get the noise up a bit (by swapping ends we play toward) and Robins has expressed the importance of vociferous support, that striking while the iron is 'hot', might get us the South Stand..and if that can be done prior to selling season tickets...then it would take off...fans would use it increasingly so...but it's a bit like hard work at the moment...
I'll take a breather now, sorry for hijacking the thread a bit Darn mate...back to the cup tie...
Forest insist the midweek game will stay on Tuesday, which means one day to recover from Sunday (bit naughty that), this might lead to a few being 'saved' for the more critical game where 3 points are available ?
be interesting to see what the team is when announced.
This Paragraph in me post above should've read DARN and not Jacko .. Sozz lads & Hope you both spotted that ..

Creativity is the name of the game (making sure you get more on Board ~ Pun ?) I know its heartfelt stuff DarnUndz but in your own interests do try & be quite Careful/Sensitive as to how your fellow posters are perceiving it .. .. ..
Oh Heck hope this doesn't come across all Billy Ray was a Preachers Son etc .. .. ..
Don't apologize about hijacking the thread Jacko.....
This debate is exactly what I was hoping to promote,
If anything,
I was hoping more would have Joined in !
especially after Robins comments at Cov !
I'd love Dean to allow something along the same lines as what Brentford have done but the thing is I don't think he or Clibbens would think it's a good idea.
I mean what's wrong with forming something like that and charging £15/year and then in return for the cash the club gets the supporters get a certain amount of shares(10/15%)and a couple of places on the board.
At the moment the Town board is made up of Hoyle,Clibbens,Jarvis and Hough. I've no doubt they all work very hard but at the end of the day they are not bringing any money to the table themselves.
Ok the money wouldn't be massive but is it such a ridiculous idea?
Only Dean brings money to the table should I say
Fed up of reading those comments tbh, I read em last week, then there was a link on here, then two copy and pastes....... I could probably recite them now.
It's like any new job, you carry on with the bull sh it that got you through the interview process!
Then once you've settled down, and realise who does what and who does feck all....... you understand most work places are the same!
Rant over, I'm back to work tonight after having 7days off
My comments are about Robbins comments on the Coventry board btw
Just saw martinez on ssn, he's aware that the boll ock chasers are on the pitch 24hrs before. But he's hoping the pitch will be good "as we both play good football."
Don't know what's funnier! The pitch was shocking last week, so I can't see it being any better.

pitch is same for both sides..know its an old adage, but its very true.
advice; dont try and play too much in your own half.. thats it then, full team briefing done..
how hard can it be????
when you have a pitch like a billiard table the briefing is probably a bit longer..
robins didnt get coventry in the sh-t state they are now..he didnt buy and pay players daft money and he was never part of any decision making process that has left them up the creek..
he can therefore "jump ship" with impunity and has...
first and foremost he has to protect himself and his own job and as the sh-t was about to hit the fan he got the chance to move away..
he hasnt left just for money or a "new challenge" , he has left before it sinks, like any sensible person would..
We were looking just at the right time to be honest about it..
were you on the Titanic 38 ?
Wigan website states concession prices are for over 65's...I know it's only £5 difference, but I think that should be same as for Town fans, ie over 60's ?
Sold nearly 2,000 it says, and can pay on the day...seems they took 2,300 to Macclesfield...so expect maybe 2,500 - 3,000 at Town ?
reckon around 15,000 Town fans should turn up...so hopefully 18-19,000 ...would be a decent turn out that.
Just listened to erm...Peter erm...Clarke on erm... radio Five erm....live.....he's...erm...very...erm.......inspirational..... erm.....................
erm.........
erm..........
erm.......
No way wil they be anywhere near 19 thou jacko , more like 13 to 15
Are we any nearer at knowing who has made miraculous recoveries from the treatment room this week,
Or, who still remains 'unavailable'..
If it was your chance to select the starting eleven would you..
Pick a predictable, Best available, recognized format.
or Do what Lillis did at Leicester & pick an unexpected line up !
Did this Work !
A 2-1 away win would suggest it did.
I also wonder how much Martinez really knows about us, OK. He will have watched the Leicester tie, But other than that....what ?
If he said 'we both' play good football....including Town in that statement when asked about the pitch, I have to say, He sees something I completely miss to some tune !
We are getting results,
& improving too...
But 'good football' is pushing it a bit.
Unless of course he meant Wigan RLFC
