It is not alleged that Morgan played hardball with the contract to Curbishley. Morgan, Moxey and Curbishley have all subsequently said the same thing. They shook hands on a contract and next morning Curbishley phoned to say he had decided to stay out of football management.

Everyone acknowledges that McCarthy is an excellent Championship manager so how can he be in any way to blame for us being in a relegation position in this league when if he had still been manager we would have without question been far higher up the league.

And how can Henry be to blame. He does what he does and gives 100% every game. Connor, Solbakken and Saunders pick him every game. If you don't think they should then the criticism has to be of the managers not the player.

And to attribute no blame at all to Solbakken is frankly absurd.

My recollection is that Curbishley was offered a contract only for the remaining 13 games ...but wanted a long term contract which Morgan wouldnt give him. Very bad move by Morgan if true.

Thats exactly how i heard it simon.

The reason i give mick a portion of the blame is because it is down to his neglect of the squad and his terrible transfer record for 3 seasons in the prem that allowed our squad to slowly crumble.
And for his over reliance on players that were clearly lacking quality, surely everybody accepts that the squad should have been slowly overhauled with astute signings?

And as for Henry, as stories come out, it seems clearer and clearer that he is a big influence in the dressing room.

Whether you liked Stale or not, it should be irrelevant, he should have been given respect and he clearly was not.
He has even had an interview on Norwegian TV criticising Henry, quite a move i would say.

_______________

Personally, I would hope the team captain WAS a big influence in the dressing room.

I think that's 100% correct.
Stale's signings were nothing more than corrective surgery which clearly hasn't worked.
To denigrate Cinci's opinions just because he's an ex-pat like WITSS is a cheap shot.

i can shed some light on the curbishly one....he was quite prepared to take the club on until the end of the season, but changed his mind and told them he wouldnt be taking the position.i cant tell you what the details or minutia of the reasons he changed his mind(my thoughts, on what i know from the events, would be he he took a step back and saw the bigger picture after his meeting).....but i was told at the time the the reason he gave was ...that's no way to run a football club.... a view that i think has been born out over the last 12 months to the footballing world at large.

Curbishley accepted what was offered to him. Then phoned back the next day to say he had decided not to return to football management. When Curbishley left Wolves after his second interview he did so having shook hands on a deal he was happy with. not sure why its Morgan and Moxey that are deserving of criticism in those circumstances
