Should bring back David Dein at the same time too.
If there’s one man that will rid Arsenal of Stan Kroenke, it’s him...
Wenger’s coaches weren’t much better than Arteta’s are though tbh.

Easily solved by bringing Wenger back as Director of football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah yes, who better to clean up Wenger’s mess than Wenger himself. Why did we ever get rid of him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its been clear for the last decade that Wenger would make a better DoF than he did manager. Director of football does not buy players, or select teams or tactics. However he does structure the club, hire the manager and the coaches and represents Arsenal in football related meetings. He has a similar role at FIFA.
However I don't think he will come back.
I suspect Arsenal will target Michael Edwards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The structure of the club is a mess because of Wenger. He demanded and had full power of everything at the club right down to the tea lady’s Christmas bonus. Do you really want to give him that power again? He should be kept as far away from the club as possible.
Michael Edwards would be great if his work at Liverpool is anything to go by but I can’t see it happening. He’ll probably get better job offers. Do United have a replacement for Woodward lined up?

Its how Chelsea are structured.

Well at times it seemed you didn't by the constant sarcy comments when I suggested it for the last 8 months.
Dude, I even joked on here ages ago about Josh rummaging around the office looking for Gazidis’s old notepad. I’ve never suggested Arteta’s appointment was anything other than his decision.
I’ve also said on many occasions promoting Arteta to manager was a mistake, especially so quickly. So not sure what you’re getting at tbh.
Ornstein did at least claim Arteta doesn’t have anywhere near the same power that Wenger did.
Interestingly, he thinks (assumes) Odegaard and White were Arteta’s choice. Lakonga and Tavares more likely to be Edu’s. Assume the new RB will also be Arteta’s. Ramsdale could be a joint decision.

How we got the power is a different story. But he clearly had no intention of relinquishing it. And he made no secret about how he was against a DoF at Arsenal. It would be ironic if that’s the role he returned to the club in and again would show how motivated by power he is.

Will watch it later.
Come on Lexington, your main defence for Arteta was that he was just a manager. Blame Edu, blame Vinai, blame everyone but Arteta. We had hours of discussions on that topic. Now its obvious Arteta and KSE and working hand in hand, and pretty much sidetracking the upper management based in this country.
Do you honestly think for example that Arteta was NOT instructing the PR department on Auba? Or those leaks for dropping players or leaks on players marginalised at the club? Arteta's politicking?
Do you remember all that mocking when I pointed out Vinai comments on Arteta is a powerful individual pretty much gave the game away?
Reading the transcript of that interview, it seems Edu and Artitler are very much in this together.
Also at the part where he says we don’t need a midfielder because we have Xhaka and don’t need a striker cos we have Laca
Also seems like we only let Willian go because he wanted to leave.

I don't blame Wenger for not giving that power Bats. Imagine if your line manager is fired and you are then given freedom to do your job as you want. With no one to stop you.
Its quite different to be given the title and then held accountable for mistakes.
Wenger is still a top thinker in the game. And restructuring the club on the football side is similar to what he is doing for FIFA but for the whole game. Obviously he is not going to step down from that so its really a non point.
As for Michael Edwards, he was doing Edu's role at Liverpool and getting Raul's position is a promotion for him. I am not sure Man Utd would appoint him to a commercial role at their club. And technical director (a position they don't have) would really be a side step to what he was doing at Liverpool albeit at a bigger scale.

'Reading the transcript of that interview, it seems Edu and Artitler are very much in this together.'
Think that answers most of your point.
And I've never said Arteta was blameless. More that, being in his first job, he needed more guidance from those around him.
What Ornstein says not only backs that up, but also indicates why that obviously didn't / couldn't happen. IE. pretty much everyone in a position of authority at the club are inexperienced at their roles.
So of course Vinai thinks Arteta is powerful. His perspective skewed by the fact he's pretty much the only manager he's ever worked with.
'Do you honestly think for example that Arteta was NOT instructing the PR department on Auba? Or those leaks for dropping players or leaks on players marginalised at the club?'
I mean, just... lol.
Why the constant need to root around in speculation and whacky conspiracy theories, when there's plenty of things going on in front of our eyes that's lacking in the manager and the club?
I find it kinda crazy. I think that's what I feel the need to pull you up on more than anything tbh.
How is it a whacky conspiracy theory?
Arteta's first complaint at Arsenal was not how badly we were coached, or how much deadwood was at the club or how indisciplined our defending was.
It was who was leaking form the dressing room. Thats says it all.
Okay, well you're exaggerating now, but I'll go with it, just for chuckles.
So, Arteta is complaining to the press about about leaks from the training ground, threatening to 'destroy' whomever is responsible.
I'm guessing you've not been oblivious to all the negativity and 'bantz' about Arsenal being thrown around by the press just recently?
You don't think that would've been the prefect time for someone to say... 'oh and by the way, everyone, the leak from Arsenal was Arteta'?
