Why would Newcastle sell Isak to us? And how does it look for Arsenal rejecting him for £68m but then paying £100m+ for him?

Why wouldnt they? They need cash. He'll want to come. I dont get your logic - why does any player move clubs? Every player has his price.
As for us rejecting him, i dont think anyone could care less tbh
Newcastle wont sell Isak but maybe Bruno
Newcastle are negotiating a new contract with Isak to remove the clause. They aren't doing that with Guimares so it's obvious who is available.
In my experience, decision makers at that level very rarely admit to a mistake. Especially one that will cost them another £40m.
I think it's obvious by the links to Sesko and Zirkzee the type of targets we are pursuing. Which suggests to me that Arsenal want to keep Havertz in the starting role. And I doubt Jesus will go either unless a very big bid comes in.
At least that nonsense GD talk is over. 1-0 over Everton if somehow Moyes comes up with a result will do.
Not a chance we get Isak. He's Newcastle's crown jewel and I'm sure they'd rather let Guimaraes leave first before Isak. As we all know, top strikers these days are hard to come by, Newcastle won't just let him go because they want to be back in the mix for top-4 next season, and most reports are saying he'll be £120m for Newcastle to even consider selling. I don't think we'll fork out that much on him when we have multiple positions to address.

£120m is about right I think.
Guimares is OK but I'm not sure we'd see him the same, a player worth breaking the bank for

Players have to take a paycut if they drop out of CL (like they have). Similar issues at Utd which is why they put a lot of players in the squad for sale.

Think it is pretty common for "big" teams to pass on an untried player and then to come back for him when they have built up their rep some more. We were linked to Bruno G at 15-20m not that many years ago.
