Nah, we never made the bid. Lyon did and he went there for £17m.
He was linked to us when he was at Lyon too
I think we might've got him but Arteta convinced Xhaka to stay instead

I was referring to when he was leaving Lyon. Didn't realise that we wanted him before that as well. Good to know we've followed him for a while.
If we had Morata for that West Ham game the title would be ours even if we had Welbz we would have got the job done. Jesus and Zinny are City moles

And how does it look for Arsenal rejecting him for £68m but then paying £100m+ for him?
=======
Think it is pretty common for "big" teams to pass on an untried player and then to come back for him when they have built up their rep some more. We were linked to Bruno G at 15-20m not that many years ago.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe we were close to making a bid/ or did make a bid for Isak depending on who you believe. I think thats a big difference compared to being interested in apleyr when he was very young.

Isn't that what he is reported to be doing for Jesus? ðŸ¤
Amazing that in just 2 short seasons Jesus and Zinny are no longer good enough (starters) for our team
Probably never thought we will be competing with City so soon.
Zinny was NEVER good enough

Just reached those City levels pretty quickly. They've done a job for us and had a chance to prove that they can contribute in a bigger way to a team at that level, but they've both fallen short. Will be interesting to see if they accept that now and what their next steps are.
Goes back to my question. Have City regressed, or have progressed so much that we are now almost as good?
They weren't starters for City though
Players to be sold:
Ramsdale, Cedric, Zinchenko, Elneny, Nelson, Nketiah then probably one of Smith-Rowe, Vieira.
I don't think they've really regressed, they might not have played quite as impressively but I think they're on their longest ever unbeaten run aren't they?
We'll have issues, we sell all our homegrown players.

Astonishing rise of Arsenal then. Our issues have been glaring. How do City improve?
