We were controlling the game, until they scored it was obvious who the better team was. when they're 2-0 it takes a miracle to win then, they can just kill the game. Spurs just got lucky we went missing for 5 mins.

8bit spot on.

Yes Samir, I think Wenger did well today. It was positive tactic and he got it right. He was right about Bale. Keep him away from goal and we did that well. Or did I missed something. Please all read the our match thread and it confirmes what 8bit said. All were positive in the first half until Spurs scored. The the Wenger out shouters ruined everything.

Poldi is so clinical. Why didnt he score from Giroud flick on. That was our best goal scoring opportunity in the second half. Fact.

Becaus he took a shiet touch, undoubtedly down to lack of game time.

Wenger got his tactics spot on hahahahaha

The tactic to defend the halfway line which cost us two goals....Oh dear

"Wenger got his tactics absolute spot on today."

I like you GT. So I'm not going to stone you.

what did he wrong. We dominated the first half until they scored. Dont let the defeat tell you otherwise, Dubbed.

Yeah. I think you missed the part where Bale actually scored a goal mate.

Arsenal were ok in first half without ever really threatening spurs. Passing the ball around is fine but if you do nothing with it it's fairly pointless. Loads of times the ball went wide and was crossed straight onto a spurs defenders head.

Spurs didnt play great but they we never under pressure and could bide their time until they got a chance and they were clinical in that aspect.

Second half spurs could have got 3 more and arsenal needed an own goal to get back in the game.

I've always been against big money in football. I hated it when City and Chelsea got seemingly unlimited money and virtually bought the league. But frankly, if a billionaire conglomerate wants to buy us and rid us of mediocrity, so be it.

Better to sell your soul than give it away for free.

could have be any other player. I say its poor defending. Very avoidable. Why do you hang on on Bale? He wasnt a thread for us today. We didnt even gave free kicks away which was lethal for them against West Ham. Did we?

You've got very poor centre halves that cost you tome and time again. No positional awareness today look at Verm for second goal absolutely tragic

that the problem with us. We have no urgency to score and you can count the minutes then we will concede a goal. That is the history of so many games we played recently. That is why we lost.

Because you specifically said 'we did well to Bale away from the goal'. Simple to understand.

Did he not score the opening goal?

As for the rest of what you said I can't agree. Arteta's been very average this season, so I don't know why Wenger included him in the team. Coquelin was our best bet as he is composed on the ball and he's a good tackler. Giroud should not have started because he has been ineffective the last few games and it turns out I was right again. Giroud was too slow with the ball at his feet and he did not get into good positions.

Vermaelen showed why, although he's very athletic, his reading of the game is poor, Koscielny would have been a better inclusion, in my opinion. Koscielny and Mertesacker together.

The 4-3-3 and high line system will work if we have the personnel for it and if all our players are willing to press the opposition. We didn't. The team set up the same way every game and teams know how to nullify us. Why persist with a system which doesn't suit the players we have?

The substitutions also were not good. Jenkinson was doing well on the rhs and he was a constant threat, so why take him off? Rosicky should have come off for Arteta/Ramsey, and Jenkinson should have stayed on the pitch. Podolski should have come on for Giroud, too, who did very little the entire game.

So in conclusion, Wenger made a lot of tactical mistakes, still looked lost going forward and we looked vulnerable on the counter.

Considering we make the mistakes each year and our defenders keep making rookie errors, I would say it is poor coaching which has affected our defence.

The common denominator in all this is Wenger, so the blame lies with him.

I know allot of you want wenger out but maybe missing out on cl is exactly the kick your club needs. There is some truth to the idea that you can't attract big players without cl football but if you pay the wages you can and you've got the money. Maybe wenger and the board will finally go out and spend top dollar on top players.

Bale scored because we gave it to him on a plate, like GT said it's irrelevant who scored really just down to a silly moment from us.

I'm surprised with the comments about Spurs' pressing. Their pressing was mediocre. They defended much deeper than we did and successfully utilized their pace upfront coupled with our uncertainty in defence. They deserve credit but no need to go overboard.
