It's your typical fickle football fans....doing well in the league and a good performance at the emirates and all of a sudden they are favourites for the CL. They aren't a touch on bar a IMO

Why?
they were relaxing tonight and still had 30+ shots to arsenals 2 shots...........

One bad game makes them overrated?

They were missing Schweinsteiger and Ribery tonight, which surely didn't help. They were complacent but got the job done in the first leg. 'Chokers' may be an appropriate term for them but that doesn't mean that they aren't a very good side.

Don't know how they put up with Robben, though.

A top class team would have finished Arsenal off, not left it as close as it finished. They have no chance against Barca

I agree with the OP. I can't understand why they are so highly rated by 'pundits'. They haven't won their league since 2010 albeit they will most likely win it this season. Both finals they have played against inferior teams and have bottled it on both occasions.

oh give it a rest mate, if they really tried then arsenal would have been slaughtered

hard work was done in the first leg. arsenal had two shots on target and two goals.

game was not as close as the final scores suggest. football is a funny unpredictable game. whats predictable is the consistency of arsenals failures.

Second best team in Europe for me, and its no shame to be behind Barca.

they can certainly beat Madrid and Barca, on their day.

Don't forget Schweinstiger (?) and Ribery were out tonight.

I know the players they were missing but Arsenal we're missing Chesney, Sagna, Wilshere and Podolski.

I have to say that was one of the worse performances ever from a German side. Bayern are well overrated. They should have piiiiiiiiiisssssed all over Chelsea on their own ground, and bottled it last season.

So Barcelona choked against chelsea with 10 men last year, bayern choked with 11 men.

bayern relaxed tonight and still dominated them and were unlucky not to score a few, arsenal were absolute cack Tonight, the only good thing about arsenal tonight waa their defence.

by the way I'm in no way saying bayern are as good as barce because they are not

The 'on their day' logic is extremely flawed. AC Milan beat an under par Barcelona team 'on their day' and that doesn't mean they're better than Barca does it?

They were missing chesney?
fabianski is better than that clown

Rob, yesterday you said Dortmund would give Barca a game. Bayern are better than Dortmund, as good as Dortmund are.

One game in which they were complacent and lethargic, and still the dominant side despite losing, is not a reflection of the team.

Personally I think Barca will win it if they perform to what we know they can. But that doesn't mean Bayern are not rightly one of the favourites and a fantastic team.

Real are the team I fancy to beat Barca more than any in the competition, though.

Says the guy who believes results are king in every argument. They qualified, they peppered arsenal. I strongly doubt you would be saying the same about united if it was us because everytime someone says we have been unimpressive you say "12 points". Well in this situation, who qualified is all that matters.

By the way, God help the idiotic team that goes against bayern thinking like you do, they will get reamed.

This is about Bayern, not Arsenal. Bayern unquestionably played poorly tonight but to judge them on that is foolish.

Completely agree. I mean seriously what does on their day actually mean??? It is an absolute nonsense saying

You must have watched a different match because arsenal played well. You are allowed to congratulate other teams than who you support

i think bayern took pity on arsenal today. they didnt want to humiliate them.

and as a result they nearly cost themselves.

silly but better team is going through.

arsenal are the master of turning up when its too late, cant handle the pressure. no surprise they do something of note when no pressure is on.

average club with a rubbish philosophy

We having been bigging up Bayern as potential winners since we got knocked out last week.

Now, all of a sudden Arsenal get a fantastic (albeit futile) result AWAY to them so now they are over-rated????

Sometimes you just need to say well done to a PL team that isn't us!

Guys

If you read the op properly it's says I've said this for a while. This is based on previous seasons too.

Theyre only so far ahead in their league because Dortmund prioritized the cl.
