Dr Phil

"Let me see red,do you have fans from Norway yes/no"

Yes some. Do I really have to put the link up, from ToffeWeb of the Everton Norweigan supporters club, again?

"Do Everton FC have people that support the club yes/no"

Yes but not many

Did you lot latch onto the phrase, and make banners, 'The people's club' after Moyes uttered it? Yes or no?

Had the phrase ever been used before Moyes said it? Yes or no?

Red, I am thanks. A little sore and I am going to enjoy my 12 week paid holiday as a 'reward'

Anyway, I would be less concerned about Norway and more about the Irish support....

Support or go to games??

A big difference, how many armchair fans we have could be vast. I prefer to look at attendance percentage.

I don't get this People's Club thing. It's almost as if you're trying to deter people from outside the area to support the club. In times when clubs are struggling for money it hardly projects a welcoming image to anyone thinking of supporting Everton.

Glad to hear it.

Lots of Irish scousers though isn't there.

Before Shanks came to Liverpool you didn't even play in red never mind being referred to as 'the reds'

Can you see where I am coming from here.

You call me dr because you have very little mind of your own and to be honest your defence on calling me dr is pathetic even if you were only a child

Thats how you view it, we are second club in a small city with a very low average wage.

Moyes made a call on what he saw in the city. The club didnt try to trademark it, some KEIOC vendors of tat did to sell from stals and hotdog vans.

you referring to Crispy from a coupleof years back fellaini?

Clubs aren't just based in the locality anymore. They're world wide brands that earn revenue from all over the world. Some do it better than others. If Everton want the money to spend. Then they need to extend their world wide fan bases, they have some already. IMO Moyes' 'people's club' comment is mis guided and creates an introverted view of the club, by those not from the city. I don't know why Everton fans champion 'the people's club' then bemoan he lack of money coming into the club?

Not Crispy, he wouldnt have it in him to be that smart. Plus Crispy just morphed into Concerned Evertonian.....Who is now Silky

The Dr tag is a skit. Much like the Norweigan thing, and 'the people's club' was at Liverpool. I didn't come up with it but was there when you were first called it. I've called you it ever since. It stuck. I take it you came up with RS?

You do realise that if you get into the CL that you might gain some casual out of town support who might not go to Goodison and may possibly watch matches from their armchair. Will you be ok with this?

You hear peoples club, and you think it means local only?

I guess some hear project and others he bluff/blagger!

The quote from Moyes was;

"Everton are the people's club, the people on the street support Everton'

Either he was being 'down wit da kids', or he was referring to local support when he said 'the people on the street'?

posted on 19/3/13

Peoples club is a phrase that excludes people from anywhere other than Liverpool!!!

How do you work that one out lads?.

Scousers club...I'd understand

locals club again I'd understand

but peoples club explain to me how that excludes the general populace

Talking of which, I bet you've got one of these

Before you say it I know we produce some tat too under the guise of 'merchandise' .

I know what the quote said, however it was a comment on how he had seen support for the club on the street. It never hinted at 'only local support is wanted'

KATD, how will we ever get into the CL on our budget, your outgoing CB carragher earns more than our highest paid player!

Your in the mix for a CL place this year. I just wanted to know how you'd react to having out of town casual fans off the back of this.

Well if Moyes is not manager next season he was unlikely to play. I hope he gets a coaching role with us if he decides down that route.

I leave you lot for an hour and this is how it turns out...!!!

Phil... I called you Dr in the beginning as i believed you had a PHD in all things liverpool FC.. it was a childish joke however like most of my digs at everton fans it is said with a wry smile as the vast majortiy of my extended family are blues and we have this sort of banter all the time.. (one cousin is a united fan and he is made to stand with the women)

I hope you can embrace it and take it in the way it was meant...if it was me it would have been in my user name within seconds!!!!!

In the end for me the old our fans are more loyal/more passionate/more local/more ... just more is a bit of a daft argument....

And Dr Phil (i hope im still allowed to use your title now that I have explained and im quite sadly proud that i came up with it) that pic of rodgers you like so mujch

the words

'Hey yooooouuu guuuyysss' springs to mind

see i think if we could all laugh at ourselves a bit more this would be abit more ... fun..!

or just ignore me and call me RS im in a funny mood today!

KATD, I have always said we need more fans through the gates, I travel from out of town and so do about 6 supporters clubs within 50 miles of me. Nothing wrong with that.

I doubt all of a sudden we would attract an additional 10,000 fans.

posted on 19/3/13

We have some already knotty so some more out of town support would not be a problem. The fact is that every prem league club and probably every club in the 4 professional leagues in this country could boast to having some out of town support
