Yeah but when he said 'on the street' where do you think he was referring to? Liverpool or Preston? He was on about the streets of Liverpool.

Phil... I called you Dr in the beginning as i believed you had a PHD in all things liverpool FC.. it was a childish joke however like most of my digs at everton fans it is said with a wry smile as the vast majortiy of my extended family are blues and we have this sort of banter all the time.. (one cousin is a united fan and he is made to stand with the women)

And you the Runt of the litter, being an RS. Oh by the way someone has swapped the R and C keys on my laptop

No, I laughed at the guy changing his name, being from Norway and going to games.
Dont call me lad again!
Not lambasting anything of the sort.If you read the comments I made earlier then I have clearly stated that I have no problems with Liverpool supporters or even fans that don't attend game and live in or outside the Liverpool boundaries, but I do have issues for want of a better word with some types of fans you have.

You said you have a problem with Liverpool fans who don't attend games and post on the match thread during matches.

I think I have seen phil say he wouldnt mind more out of town fans before, we know we are second in the GOLBAL support war to you. Plus the newer fans will always pick a winning club!
I am with Phil on the 'certain type' of super fan you attract.
Here's what I said earlier and even one of your very own fans who was vociferous in the debate sort of understood what I meant.

My issue if you want to call it an issue is that these very same fanboys like TOOR etc say things like increasing the cost of tickets by 5-9% is not an issue and those like yourself who cannot afford it will have to stand aside and let someone else take your place(more towards season ticket holders).
When the fanboys express things like this it makes my blood boil as they don't understand the sacrifices some supporters make in time and money to support their club.
Yet the very same fanboys insult their own matchgoing fans as well others and if any fan opposes their views like ARE and shortlight then they are treated appallingly.
You are not the only set of fans who do this but you are our rivals so I think my distain for such fans is valid
=================================
Fair enough, I agree
My boss has had to not renew his season ticket last season for the first time in 40 years because his wife wouldn't let him. To be honest at that age, I'd tell her where to go but he's said he's not actually missed it as much as he thought he would.
A midweek replay against Oldham doesn't hold the lure it once did I think

Sorry Kiddo
I tend to keep them at arms length. But I do have a grudging respect for people who'll drag themselves halfway across Europe and have to pay a kings ransom to come to Anfield when I moan about a midweeker against Anzhi.
I dont base my opinion on whether people go the match or not they could have a variety of reasons for this...i named one of my difficulties earlier...
I base it on people's opinions... there are fans are both clubs boards on here who know what they are talking about and i take their banter as tongue in cheek now and again some seem to boil over into spite or what comes across as hatred... and i will say one thing i have never hated everton due to my close family and friends ties with the club...
I think its sad if one set of fans do feel like that about the other...
I have to share this city and i like that i do...
Dr Phil
I agree to an extent. Everyone who supports the club, in their various forms, is entitled to an opinion. Whether they go every match, occasionally, or have never been. We've got fans in Asia, for example, that will probably never go. Are they not entitled to an opinion?
I had a discussion with Fell re: ticket prices going up. It's a strange dichotomy. On one hand it needs to be affordable for fans in the city, and in this country, to go. But we need to increase income to catch up with those above us. Before the rise out ST's are 9th in the league. Our ST's are cheap compared to the likes of Arsenal, and our fans have got to see a trophy win recently. Other than Arsenal, United, Chelsea, Spurs & City there are 3 clubs below us, in the league, charging more for ST's.

I saw that Norway thing on Facebook last night. A mate posted it. It was the comments posted on it that we're pretty sad. Stuff like "all reds are richardheads". Surely he must have some friends, family, workmates who are reds.
If ever you want to see how bitter & nasty some fans are. Have a look at any BBC story, with comments attached, about Liverpool and even some not about us. It's funny. This forum is quite tame by comparison.
red_man23 .With all due respect look at the area that surrounds Anfield and Goodison and think is this area an area where people can stump up an extra 5-9% to go to a game.Your owners have gone on record saying the amount of record breaking deals they've brought in have added to your coffers.
The increase in revenue from ticket sales is £3million a year. That is not going to close the gap on the likes of United, the extra revenue is not going to buy a world class player. To put it into perspective you could release a minor squad player and save that amount on their wages.
It could greatly affect some matchgoing fans but will be 1.5% increase in your turnover
Dr Phil
The area around Anfield is in dire straights and in need of regeneration, I know it well my Auntie used to live off Breck Road. This is something the owners have pledged to during the stadium rebuild. I know it's only promises at the moment, and until it starts we have to take their word for it.
I find I'm undecided when it comes to the increases. Yes we've increased commercial revenues. But with FFP coming in we need to increase stadium revenues too. Showing where our ST prices are, in comparison to the rest of the league, wasn't justifying it. Just putting it into context. Yes it's 'only' £3m per year. But that'll pay a players wages for a year.
Like I said I know people, and especially people in the city, will find the rise hard. But other cities, with economic problems, charge more than us.
