You can laugh but we all did back then seriously. Was a piece of pizz

draw the design with a biro and simply cover it in embroidery whilst sniffing the aroma of a joss stick and listening to Space Station number 5

Those were the days

Anyone on here remember the Bib and Brace days of about 1982, a la Dexy's Midnight Runners

I'm sorry but that was just a step too far for me, but some game boys used to turn up at games with it on.

Used to play 747 all night every night

As for UFO, Michael Schenker was one of my favourite mucicians growing up along with Sammy Hagar who was actually my first concert at the Apollo in Ardwick. I left my ticket at home and missed the support group going back to get it. The support group was the little known Gary Moore

I think the best thing I ever saw in concert growing up though was a Cozy powell drum solo surrounded by fire

I aint gonna sleep tonight for thinking about the old days

We were too pizzed and having fun to worry about a nationwide crisis to get a manager a touchline ban

When you look back, just how brilliant was it for City for example to have the late great Big Malc as manager rather than Bobby

Characters have disappeared from the game

Thank God for Jose and Alex eh

Ian Gillen or David Coverdale. Seen them both. Loved em both

Now one regret

I never got to see Bon Scott. Brian johnson walked right past me with Angus Young on hs shoulders, in his school uniform playing his guitar, at Donnington whch was amazing, but never got to see Scott.

Time for a stairway to heave..... bed for me guys

Cheers for the chat about the old days

OP? Brilliant thread. Shame there wasn't more around

Night all

Great article Chelsea, - the look of the mid to late seventies - the sheepskin coat, the levis staprest, the green trevira coat or two-tone coat, the ben sherman button-down collar, the tasselled loafers. I wore them all. Along with the a-line mini skirt with patterned tights, the checked dress with brogues - and the silk scarves round the wrist. I had the Julie Driscoll haircut, morphing into a short top and mullet sides and back The tartan trimming on the bottom of the staprest a bit later on (Bay City Rollers)

I had a boyfriend at that time from Nottingham, a Forest fan. When I look at photos from that time, we look like twins.

It was the 1st tour without Gillan, Coverdale said he was sheitting himself but the fans were fantastic with him. It wa also the 1st tour with Glenn Hughes instead of Roger Glover.

I also saw AC/DC at the odean B'ham with Bon Scott around 75/6 - I was eating my bacon sandwich at a greasy spoon cafe when I heard he'd died - gutted!

So was that the short Julie Driscoll haircut Kitty?

Always enjoyed my visits to Wednesday back in the 70s/80s, I still look out for their results now and probably my favourite team out side of Chelsea!

I loved this look, the short hair, the false eyelashes and heavy eye makeup and pale lipstick. I still have kinda the same look now, only a more modern version

I've always loved visiting away grounds and Chelsea at that time was a bit of a mish-mash as I remember it, the terraces were miles away from the pitch.
