Why do people always try and act as if there is some huge gap in quality between Ronaldo and Messi? There really isn't a huge gulf in class between them.

As an athlete, I personally think Ronaldo is better. But as a team player, Messi is better.

Rev, you probably don't see him track back because he plays up front. Ronaldo doesn't play as a centre-forward, he drifts out wide.

Messi for me is unbelievable with the ball at his feet, has greater agility, better passing, deceptively very strong and has a sublime shot with either foot.

Ronaldo is more skillful, better in the air & better at set-pieces, but apart from that, I think Messi exceeds him.

There isn't much between them though.

Ofcourse their isn't much between, but i think aside from goal scoring and control, their isnt really anything messi is clearly better at, i just see ronaldo as the overall better player and that is why i think he is better.

Also, it was a crime how he didn't win ballon d'or this year. Lead his club and country to good things, better than barca, with a worse team, but obv, goals are the thing people are judged on, no matter what position you are in etc.
