Welcome to the forum.
Although you could have just saved yourself 10 mins and just typed, I don't like Welbeck. Fairly obvious you don't rate him. That's fine.
I actually like Welbeck. His finishing has frustrated the hell out of me this year too. But Rooney's touch and passing has as well. All our wingers have too.
He's not the only one is my point. And he's still VERY young.
When it starts affecting the results we can worry. At the moment it isn't really.
I still haven't got over that the boss chose him over Rooney against Madrid.

Welbeck was our best player in the second leg against Madrid. I agree that his stats this season aren't particularly good, however, last season he got 13 or so I think, so surely he deserves more time, especially for one so young?
Hernandez couldn't do the job Welbeck does in the big games. Everythign about Welbeck, bar his finishing, is pretty good. I think next season he'll get a lot more chances as striker in the league cup/fa cup and hopefully he'll start scoring again.
Welcome to the board mate.
I think young Danny has a lot of potential but is being mismanaged by SAF.
I think he is being used everywhere as a Park or a JOS type player and this is not helping his natural game.
Stick him upfront and work on his finishing and he will be a top player.
Just to make sure I haven't misunderstood that. do you like Danny or not?
Your post is a little vague
He is our most effective player on the counter attack. Probably our fastest player and most able to carry the ball past opposition players. When we play against the top sides like Real Madrid, this ability is invaluable in both taking the pressure off us and creating chances.
There may be better players out there at it but not at United. That combined with the fact that he is a local lad makes him all the more popular as well.

But the likes of Rooney and Hernandez compensate with their finishing.
I appreciate the fact that he runs his socks off and puts effort but thats not what a striker is supposed to do.
Get a top class box to box midfielder and we wont need Welbeck or Rooney to do the running.

For me he's really looked the part in everything bar his composure in front of goal. He's got what it takes to have a successful United career imo.

Also, he scored 12 goals last season OP. Playing as a striker. If he played as a striker this year, he may have gotten more.
