"I don't think you can equate the murder of innocent kids with the death of a tyrant"
In Dc's head it would seem its one in the same
Sad indeed
I am not by nature a hater but a small part of me will always hate her and her Ilk, I shed no tears over her death but call her sins legion for they are many
I am not so much worried that she is dead, only that Cameron is not!

Think the bbc have said that the charts are a historic record of what people have been buying/ listening to so they are bound that principal to play it. Despite bad tatse or political reasoning.
They didnt play relax! So thats bollox!
Saddam dies.....folk pelting his statue with shoes and footage of his death goes on youtube
Gaddafi dies.....his body pictured and plastered on papers and such like, again videos of his last hours pop up.
Bin Laden dies.....shows ye where they found him and all sorts.
Thatcher dies....folk getting a song to number one is too much.
Not saying Thatcher was a dictator, a terrorist leader or anything like that......but perspective is what I'm talking about here.
Spitting image ripped the utter pi$h oot her and I've seen it on the telly this week.
Its a song that people are using as a vehicle for a) a parody and b) one last dig at a woman they despised.
Hardly folk belting an effigy of her with shoes is it??
I am not so much worried that she is dead, only that Cameron is not!
Aye and those countries are all paragons of common decency
Ally
Im not arguing against the need for reform in this country at that time. However what she did was short sighted, opportunistic and damaging to the long term interests of the country as a whole and devastating to the communities involved.
She could and should have implemented policies of regeneration alongside various social policies. However she did nothing for the northern, industrial communities and worsened this by creating a brain drain environment where the talented intelligent individuals were hoovered up by the affluent south.
That is her legacy.
The song is still in poor taste though.
"Aye and those countries are all paragons of common decency"

Didn't realise our papers were made in Libya
I wonder how many thatcher lovers will be listening to bbc radio 1 at the weekend.

So buying a song means people are behaving like animals? Talk about over reaction.
Play it.
We've got fck all of a voice these days, so things like this are our only avenue to make our voice heard.
Cants like Cameron saying the overwhelming majority were sad about the loss of Thatcher. Fck up ya shiny faced, arsemoothed cant - the majority AREN'T sad. The majority of cants that he associates with, and the majority of middle england are but in no way are the majority upset.
So play the song. Let us counter this disgusting media revisionism.
Ding dong the witch is dead...and thank fck as well.
Ok your right
Gaun doon tae parliament an fling yer shoes at it ffs
to be fair, regardless of the context it should be played.
people have spent money downloading it to make it to number one, so it should be played.
if its not played then bbc should refund everyone who paid for the song.
throw the auld bast@rds ashes in a skip, dirty nasty auld boot, may she burn in hell.............
