i actually dont argue very much. i just have pet hates. these are as follows.
1. supporters blindly bigging up players who are yet to fully prove themselves.
2. spurs fans not understanding the financial restraints at spurs, despite the financial information about the club being readily available for the public
3. harry redknapp.
4. people banging on about a striker whilst totally dismissing the fact that creativity is just as much of a problem as getting a finisher.
The problem I have with the playmaker argument is that although Modric was a sublime player he did not actually assist that many goals.
Whether playmaking and assists are that directly correlated is another argument.
The one thing that stands out about Benteke compared to Santa Cruz and McCarthy and others is his youth. He does have that on his side, so for him to be producing what he is, I'd hope he'd be able to get even better.
He'd be a good fit for Spurs because he has that strength which is something we've lacked up front for ages.

no not really. as i work in finance myself its a natural desire to know about the financial affairs of something i invest so much time and money into. furthermore, as i dont know RDBD personally, whatever he said to me he has said to everyone, via ja606

We obviously need a striker but if Tottenham shell out a record fee for Benteke in the Summer I might just give up.
Don't worry Levy won't pay what he is worth, and he won't be going anywhere near WHL

He's done well this season and in theory should get better, but for the amount of money he'd cost for someone who isn't the real deal I'm against it. With the players they'll be getting off their wage bill (given, Hutton, warnock, bent and Ireland) they won't even need to sell, easily looking at £20M+

Benteke will be too expensive if Villa stay up which they should do now.
Remy is an interesting option although you do worry about his injury record and the fact he was pretty useless before the QPR move
Martinez of Porto looks good especially with AVB's connections but the Porto tax is a bit like the Levy tax so it would end up in a staring contest ala Moutinho
I really don't know maybe we should concentrate on building a great midfield and keeping Bale then he can get the goals lol
