Mexican - I am not saying I agree with everything SAF does and definitely not the playing of Giggs in central midfield. Should never play there IMO. But then you have to say it paid off league wise as we won it.

Perhaps we will get both with Moyes but I doubt it. He is quite a cautious manager.

well giggs in midfield didnt pay off at all, not once, we lost at norwich, home to spurs, home to city giggs in cm was the common denominator in all of these defeats

I'm more of a style over substance guy in the sense that I would not have lost any sleep if we had played both Rooney and RVP up top against Madrid and at least went for it as opposed to sitting back and letting Madrid come at us.

Our 4-3 game against them in 2003 came about because we went to them toe-to-toe.

THAT was both entertaining and pleasing even though we lost...That Madrid team was unbelievable and MUCH better than they are now.

In any case, how many of our losses this season were attributable to us playing wonderful football and just not being good enough as opposed to playing like dross and being beaten by no teams that are clearly (if at all), better than us?

First and foremost I want us to win, secondly I want us to tonk every team but that's not always possible.

The reason we didn't is due to chronic lack of form from our wingers, Rooney, injuries and a very poor midfield as per usual that requires the wingers to play well...

Well, all teams suffer from chronic lack of form, but as a team we had more than enough personnel to see off all the teams that we came across yet lost to.

Add to that we were hardly going to overcome said form by making unbelievable decisions selection wise, dropping players for no reason and playing players out of position.

Getting turned over by Gothenburg etc.. losing to Monaol and Dortmund on away goals. We know how to play CL football now and were unlucky to come up against the great Barca team in two finals.
And we certainly know how to win the PL. We scored many goals last season. Some fans are just never happy. You probably sit there throughout the match munching your prawn sandwiches and leaving early, expecting every home game to be 3-0,4-0 or 5-0 !!!

I strongly agree. However, you can stop being naive and still play attractive football as many other clubs have demonstrated and continue to demonstrate.

Mexican - Plenty of people do. It's like going to the cinema for some games at OT. People leaving 10 minutes early, people slagging the team off from the first few minutes. etc. Too many young fans spoilt by success. We can't always win 3-0 or better playing scintillating football.
Back the team vocally and support the players and manager. Unbelievable to hear some of the comments
aimed at a team that was top of the table.
Bet if we had lost each of the CIty, Chelsea, Lpool games 4-3 and they had been great attacking displays there would have been other moaning from the same people about being to open or gungho etc.

The phrase glory hunter actually implies somebody who
only follows a team because they are successful...you should look that term up before you lecture me, makes it less embarrassing.

I am somebody who wants to be entertained no matter what the score is and feel for those who are season ticket holders (and yes, I used to be one) who pay to see wins and nothing else.

Taking everything else into consideration, who appears to be the glory hunter, me, the fan who only wants to see good football no matter how successful the team is, or you, the one who said, and I quote 'I want to win first and foremost'.

im not talking about always winning 3-0 everygame, but it would be nice to see some semblance of order and structure in our play, at the minute its just a mish mash of garbage that gets us over the line(barely) even against the likes of reading and sothampton, i wouldnt mind seeing us string more than 4 or 5 passes together in the opposition half to create a chance, first and foremost as a fan i want to be entertained, if football is no longer entertaining then we may aswell just read the results online and be happy

Would I rather us come second playing attacking football all season with loads of 4-3s or win the league with lots of 1-0s like when Cantona won us so many, then I will always take winning that league. Mexican - Our football wasn't great last season. We all know that. We were desperate t get that title back from City and the will to win shone through. That has to be respected.
Too many players out of form, especially our wingers. Injuries to Kagawa and Rooney early on did not help much either. Also it's a team that is a work in progress
and that should not be forgotten.

united is always a team that is a work in progress, we never stand still, its a tired excuse, we were a work in progress in 2006/7 when we played the best football ive seen any united team play, it was a joy to behold

I would mutter the usual 'I support United because of' sob story, but I do not feel the need to explain my love for United in an attempt at strengthening others assumptions of my credibility...I support them and that's it.

I know it wasn't up there with the great team of 2006-2008 but competition is ay greater. It's tough you know to just roll out there, turn the tap on and destroy teams with great attacking play. It needs players on form.
Valencia,Young,Nani,Rooney,Anderson,Evra... too many desperately out of form.
Mistalkes are made at all levels including the great SAF but I really think too many people on here think he lost the plot or something.
If Valencia played like he had done previously, If Anderson showed the form he was bought for, If Nani played to his potential etc etc... it didn't happen and what I am saying is so be it. I am happy to recapture that title and for me that is the most important thing.
Obviously I hope we get better this next season and our wingers return to form, Rooney stays and plays well again, any new signings slot straight in and flourish and we play great entertaining football. A lot of ifs there. And if that doesn't happen I just hope we retain the title.

Oh no here we go again on Rooney. There is no crime in asking to leave a work place. He questioned the club's ambition and nothing wrong with that either. His head was turned, possibly by his agent and the thought of money that City could offer. He was soon put right and SAF needed him. Simple as that. The heartbeat of the team.
