Far too much money for someone with one season under their belt.
In all honesty, other than the goals I didn't really rate his all-round play that highly. I suspect he and Michu may both move this summer, and be disappointing for their new clubs. If we were to buy one of them, I reckon Michu would be the better option.
In terms of other options, Lukaku would be great, Ba possibly (for less than 10million), or Dzeko; but I really would like to see Hernandez personally. I'm not sure any would be available, however.
Ginger..... we need a main striker... how on earth could Hernandez play that role for us? he is a super sub at best - basically a big upgrade on defoe...... dont rate him particularly
Would fit into our role Chronic
Expensive, but who cares I would love having a good striker. Plus the way he has treated Villa I wouldnt mind Villa getting some decent cash for him as well.
I doubt we will get him to be honest, Villa are peed with Benteke and won't let him leave cheap like

disagree, definately not as the main striker anyway.

As a lone striker he fits the mould, what type of player does AVB want?
Defoe's not it
Adey has played more over JD (even JD's been subbed more when playing together)
No way would I want to see 25 million spent on Benteke.
I can't see Levy spending that much anyway - the only possibility I can see is player swap plus cash.

hernandez is basically an upgrade on defoe...
hernandez does not strike me as a man with an all round game...
Well it appears that the 20m deal for the two little (s)Croats has fallen through.
This could potentially mean that Levy is going to invest the money into a good striker now that Villa went elsewhere.
Hernandez understands the offside rule
And how to place the ball rather than smashing it

I think you both underestimate his abilities and presume to understand the system we'll be using next season. Even if it is a 433 (which you're implying), you don't NEED a big striker to make it work. Hernandez can hold the ball up, has a trick or two and will score a lot of goals with the chances we'll be creating.
Anyway, he's just an option that hasn't really been mentioned yet. I'm not convinced United will want to sell him anyway - he's their new Solskjaer
Just things floating about on twitter innit.
I'd love someone like Mario Gomez, strong, able to link the play up.
We need someone to take the heat off Bale this season, can't rely on him to score all the goals again.
Hernandez can hold the ball up,
--------
i will have to take your word for it.... cant recall seeing him doing this much...
Needs to be a player that suits the team, I was against Ba last season, woulnd't take him, Benteke is an upgrade on Lukaku who's a good player from what I saw last season.
I'd say
Benteke>Ba>Lukaku
lukaku is better than ba imo. lukaku is about 19 isnt he? his potential is scary

Meh. I'm not saying he's Didier Drogba, but even Defoe can hold the ball up a bit (and has improved since seeing the fitness coach in France). I think the view that the striker in a 433 has to be a 'big man' is a little archaic.
Lukaku is 19 he looks 32!!!
He is good, Ba has done it with Chelsea and Newcastle, to be honest I'd take any of the 3 at the moment.
Adey will have a good season, he will get double figures. Defoe's time is up for me
Lukaku has excellent potential. If Chelsea sold him that'd be a ridiculous decision. I reckon Mou will groom him as the new Drog, however.

To be perfectly honest Spurs are running out of decent available strikers now. I think the selling club will have Spurs over a barrel now, and can ask what they like. Levy either deals or not. If he doesn`t I can see us going into the season same as last year with a lack of firepower.
who said he has to be a big man? i just said that as the focal point of the attack he needs an all round game.
a team who successfully play with one striker have a striker who can play with his front to goal and with his back to goal.
to me hernandez is not that man... he might be able to do it for parts of a game.. or for a game or two, but consistently over a season to the level we require? i dont think so .
hernandez is a great finisher and a perfect super sub basically.
