A weekend Serie D match between Cavese and Licata ended in an astonishing 19-5 victory for the home side.
The fixture took place near Naples, with neither team’s Coach present and with the Sicilian visitors only able to field nine players.
All of these were youth players following a dispute between senior players and the club, which was also responsible for the absence of their tactician.
Cavese meanwhile were reeling following the resignation of their own Coach hours before kick-off, following a ‘request’ made to him by the club’s fans regarding team selection.
Any kind of shock they may have been feeling was quickly averted when the match got underway however.
Striker Claudio De Rosa netted nine times as Cavese romped away to victory in farcical circumstances.
Good on the kids for scoring 5.
I see Javier Zanetti is retiring after twenty years of service at Inter. He will still be involved with the club in a new role as Sporting Director.
The Internazionale stalwart Javier Zanetti has confirmed that he will retire at the end of the season, bringing down the curtain on a playing career that has spanned three clubs and 22 years – nearly 20 of which have been spent in Milan.
"I feel that now is the right time to do it," he told La Nacion after Inter's defeat in the Milan derby, where he was an unused substitute, much to the annoyance of Inter's fans. "Football has given me so much and I have enjoyed every moment. Because after the achilles injury last April, I wanted to demonstrate that I could return and be competitive, but I could not.
"I feel complete and have realised that to retire at 40 is a priceless feeling. For me it is something that has immense value, and now is the right time. Do I fear life after this? No, there is no fear."
Zanetti is looking forward to the challenge of helping to try to rebuild Inter under the stewardship of the club's new owner, Erick Thohir, who confirmed last week that the former Argentina international would become the sporting director. "I dreamed of finishing my career at Inter, in my home, and I have. It was a lifestyle decision to end the career in Italy, and now, in the function of a sporting manager, I will try to be useful to the team away from the field," he added.
"A new world opens for me, and that excites me. There will be a thousand things to do."
Great player.
Zanetti.
Probably just wants to have lots of wags on hand, a la Giggs.
Fiorentina are losing 3-0 at home to Sassuolo!
Another hat-trick for Berardi, might I add.
Sassuolo added to their lead, but quick goals from Rossi and Cuadrado have reduced the deficit to 4-3.
Di Marzio just said Dortmund in talks to sign immobile. Why would Juve sell?
They've been interested for months, would be surprised if they let him go, unless they're bringing back Gabbiadini or Berardi
Do Juve own all his registration?
Torino definitely own some of it?
I really hate the co-ownership agreements.
It's messy. Gabbiadini over immobile tho? I wouldn't fancy that personally. Not seen berrardi play before
Bare in mind they have lots of strikers at Juve and Conte is looking to play 433.
There might not really be a place for Immobile over than as a squad player.
At least players like Gabbiadini and Berardi might be content with that role, and both can play wide.
Sassuolo would have been dead and buried without him this year.
There's actually a lot of decent Italian strikers.
I'm so glad Rossi is back!
Yep me too. I was gutted he wasn't going to make the world cup but I think he will now.
What strikers do you think Italy will take to the world cup?
Balo, Gilardino and Rossi are a shoo-in, I reckon. Immobile will probably be the fourth striker.
Gilardino
Probably between Destro and Immobile you'd imagine?
He will go. I guarantee you.
Fack taking Balo and Rossi and take Cassano and Luca Toni too.
Facking Gilardino, what does Prandelli see in him?
I dunno. He just likes him from when they were at Fiorentina together.
And to be fair to him, he's scored as many as Balotelli so he has had some decent form.
Hopefully he takes Totti.

Yeah it is. But he's a legend and I want to see him play at the world cup again.
