They won't have Spurs to gift them £30m this year.

No it's only for the winners.

Fancy Man Utd may make a big bid for Strootman if Van Gaal does take over, permitting his injury isn't too bad

I hear you're going for the St Etienne manager, Andy? Do you watch Ligue 1- you know, see what players you're gonna' buy and that?

Apparently it was a bit untrue that but yeah I do watch a fair bit of it. Haven't watched much this year tbh though but last 2 seasons before it would watch at least 1 game a week. It's coincidental as I watched St Etienne more than most last year cause we kept being linked with Aubameyang. Not sure what to think of Galtier, he sets up teams well and is v direct and and physical. Could he do it in England I dunno,.

Would have him over Pardew any day though.

Depends on how bad his injury is. It's hard to judge our transfer targets this season.

I'm sure they'll want big in put from the manager, however, we'll have been tracking targets for months prior to Van Gaal even being appointed and so we could continue to pursue some of these targets anyway.

Van Gaal has always worked under directors when at big clubs, so will know how things work when coming into a new job.

While we don't have directors of football, per se, it wouldn't surprise me for us to start negotiations without the manager because we made a mistake last season by waiting for the new manager to come in and assess things and then it was too late.

We cannot make the same fack up.

What are your expectations?

What for the season or transfers?

posted on 9/5/14

well both but more transfers!

posted on 9/5/14

You should sell RVP.

Expectations are dependant on transfers but I expect at least top four.

In terms of transfer William Carvalho and Luke Shaw are ones that seem realistic and rumours that don't seem to go away.

We also need a ball playing cm and a winger, in my opinion, and possibly a quality centre half.

I don't really have much expectations for these positions because it might not be as simple as throwing money at the best available target.

Nah, Henrik, he's our best striker.

If he stays fit next season we'll be a much better team for it.

posted on 9/5/14

How do you fit in: Rooney, RVP, Kagawa, Mata, Januzaj?

Things would have been more convenient had you actually sold Rooney and not given him £300,000 a week!

posted on 9/5/14

You sell Kagawa.

Those rumours about a swap for Mata, in hindsight, seem all the more realistic now.

I'd have taken it in a shot, and I think we'd have had a better season as a result and Chelsea would have won the title ahead of City and Liverpool, win win.

But it's PR. United couldn't make themselves look weak having just lost Fergie and then Rooney goes, who is a commercial star for our team.

It's why I think we'll get a marque signing in the summer, because we need to send out a message, as the Mata signing did, that this club isn't on the decline and that we can compete with the best.

posted on 9/5/14

Best hope that the marquee signing isn't Cavani!

I wonder who it will be? Carvalho is a big signing, but wouldn't say it is marquee though.

I don't think the club would be stupid enough to spend a fortune on a position we are well stocked. If anything, we need to sell a striker.

I've no idea. I could be wrong and we don't even get one. I just have a feeling we will due to the noises coming out of the club and the new transfer policy we seem to have adopted under Woodward.

I think it could be one of those where you steal someone else's target just out of politics.

From Liverpool would be the best as well.

I've gotta go anyway. Have a good evening fellas.
