Vertonghen?

Agger is definitely better than Vertonghen

Vertonghan was one of the top ten I believe for most mistakes leading to a goal last season.

May be right, but he was a very good signing. Spurs actually looked very good in defence last year for the first time since I can remember.

Paulinho is pretty decent, but nothing more. Dembele over him anyday.

Kamran.....I actually like d levvy of spurs, and I like what spurs are doing; good football with buying decent players, I just wish some of their supporters would stop taking pot shots at lfc, we recently hit hard times but it's not that far back we hit 2 cup finals, a cl final and competed for a title....when was the last time spurs achieved any of that???

Dembele is Spurs' third best midfielder in my opinion. I'd have the two Brazilians over him.

Say whoever you like is better but they will play all three of them in the same team and it will be an absolutely beastly midfield.

It annoys me last summer that we spent £15m on Allen when we could have had Dembele for the same price.

I think Allen will turn into the better midfielder so I'm not too annoyed long term. Although we could have done with Dembele last season.

Sandro is a donkey man. He's a destroyer, nothing more. No brain, not skill.

A midfield of Paulino, Sandro and Dembele lacks creativity. It's solid from a defensive point of view, but going forward, it's useless.

I really rate dembele, but not at allens expense; dembele is a lucas type player while allen is a tickover player.

I also happen to believe that now he is over his injuries he will become awesome for us, do you remeber his first few games xbefors he got injured? He was our best player.....people forget this.

I can understand the signing of Allen over Dembele, even though the latter is a better player.

BR was obviously looking for a player that fits the system he wants to play, and having been an important part of that at Swansea it's understandable he'd go for Allen over the Belgian.

You did pay well over the odds for him though.

Kam, I agree with that.

But I think Spurs are clearly looking to base their play around power and pace rather than craft and guile - as they have none of that in their side.

If they can overpower teams they shouldn't have too many problems scoring goals.

They've just paid 26m for Soldado. Where are they getting the money for that from? If Bale leaves, they'll finish 6th at best with that midfield.

Did we Darren? ? Thats very subjective. He is a plYer that does what most cant, well most british players anyway. Finds a red shirt everytime, good control and sets the tempo of a Team.

Hes the same as carrick for utd, rival teams say they offer nothing but fans of the team see how crucial they are. Mark my words, a very good signing indeed.

£26m for a 28 year old seems a bit steep although if it gets them Champions League qualification it could be worth it.

posted on 28/7/13

Have they actually signed him?

They're getting loads of tv money like the rest of the league.

I'm a big fan of Soldado, will be interesting to see how he'd do in a Spurs shirt. At Valencia he's got some very creative players in the side, less so at Spurs so he may not score as many.

That said, some of the defending in the prem is shocking.

GB, yeah I think you paid too much for him. Just my opinion.

Pretty much Daz, he could be confirmed as soon as Tuesday apparently.

He's a good poacher, but he lacks an all-round game. Without service, he's not very good. Can't create for himself. 25m is a lot of money for a player who relies on other players.

Kamran if Spurs get £86m for Bale as is being mooted think of how many players they can buy..

I reckon they could come out the other side an even better side, if they invest it well. Levy is quite shrude in the market too.

That's not true, he's a decent all round player. He's not gonna dribble from his own half like Suarez but he makes things happen when he's around the edge of the box.
