"They've always make and create goalscoring chances."
Not last season. Struggled creatively big time.
"Their keeper and back 4 hasn't been anywhere near good enough for a real serious title challenege for years now."
Well it was the 2nd best in the league last year, so not sure about this.
Seriously fakin watch our games then tell me our back five isn't good enough, second best defence in bpl last season.
Chris H
Yet you scored 1 more goal last season than in the previous season with RVP in the team.
Don't care what the stats say about your back 4 from last season alone.......that back 5 won't win you a title. Not a chance.
The Gooners are right, that's why they won the league last year
Kosc, Verm and Mert all look like an accident waiting to happen to me.
It seems like when the opposition attack it is only a matter of time before a penalty/own goal/sending off
You know we conceded less than you last year, right?
We aren't saying we'll win the league but when you say our defence isn't good enough yet united conceded more goals than us...
It will be interesting to see how he does...
Threading passes to Giroud, Walcott and Corzola (very good players) is somewhat different to threading balls to Benzema, Di Maria and Ronaldo (two very, very good players and the 2nd best player in the world).
Threading passes through PL defences will be a different kettle of fish to some of the frankly embarrassing defending i've seen in la liga too.
He has undoubted quality though, and will certainly bring more assists and goals than Rosisky.
Their striker options are what will cost them though... But if the Arsenal of the 2nd half of last season show up for the whole season, they could challenge.

To answer the reply any player who only has small clubs like Liverpool as alternate options, after all why would anyone want to finish midtable with Liverpool when they can compete for the title and CL with United?
As for the OP he is a good signing and will improve them but I think Arsenal need a good bit more to make any kind of title challenge.

Yet every pundit and journo and even club legend and captain / defender Tony Adams seems to think it's not that clever at all.
The keeper is the weak link
The pundits that predict Spurs to finish above Arsenal every season and for arsenal to drop out of the top 4?
OP - you wouldn't be writing this if Oz had signed for your team.
You know we conceded less than you last year, right?

That's just the 1 season. Be interested to see how we compare over last 3 or 5 to get a better picture.
We also scored about 20-30 more goals than you last season too.
It's the way we play as to why we conceed so many goals. 2 proper strikers rather than 1.
Yet every pundit and journo and even club legend and captain / defender Tony Adams seems to think it's not that clever at all.

Adams also thinks he should be the manager, despite failing at every club he's managed. Work that one out.
I notice everyone who has posted an article like this conveniently forgets we signed Flamini.
Laugh all you want about getting him on a free, he was superb for Milan in the 2nd half of last season, exactly what we need in DM.
From a neutral point of view... You shouldn't listen to pundits my friend this is what the problem is. People dont judge by watching they judge by what the majority say. Arsenal has the second best defensive record in the prem so to say their defence is their weak point is stupid..
Ozil is a great signing for Arsenal
OP - you wouldn't be writing this if Oz had signed for your team.

We'd be happy we got him, but at the same time píssed off because it means we wasted money on an area we are more than adequately stocked in.
Hornchurch
Once we got our key defenders fit last year, i.e. Koscielny and Monreal covering for Gibbs, we looked absolutely solid.
OP - you wouldn't be writing this if Oz had signed for your team.

Ozil wouldn't fit in to our team despite his talent.
I wouldn't drop RVP or Rooney for him. So he'd either have to play on left wing or in a 2 man midfield which I doubt he'd relish to be honest.
Without a doubt, thought your defence last year was superb some people get dragged in by the media without knowing the facts.
He'll be brilliant for them, but I don't really think he'll solve any problems.
Put it this way, after the Villa game, if you asked any of the furious Arsenal games which 2 or 3 players they need to buy to strengthen, i doubt very many of them would have suggested a player like Ozil.

Nah, we would of suggested someone like Bender or Flamini.
After one of those had been signed, we might of also realised we created 2 chances in the whole game, so thought perhaps we need to add some creativity?
