He probably stroked one out over Anelka

Ian Wright was before my times, yes.

"What has Welbeck got to do with it? "

What did Walcott have anything to do with this discussion?

You mock Walcott as if he's a poor player, yet you have few worse ones in your squad i.e Welbeck, Young, Valencia, etc.

Why do people on this forum think that being young is a bad thing? Sad old caaants. Wish I was 16 again.

"You claim Sturridge scores goals, but is technically poor.

The same could be said for most of the Premier League's best goalscorers - Wright, Fowler and Shearer being three of them."

Except for that these players are all but proven over a long period of time, and Sturridge isn't. You do know that right?

"Technical ability counts for shít if your team isn't winning. Goals are the most important attribute in football. Sturridge scores them. I'm really not sure what the point of the article is?"

Goals are important yes. But it's not be it and end all. You hanging just at the end of that, shows how very little you know. And how ignorant you are.

The point of the article is that Sturridge is overhyped.

"Ahhh, you're from the FIFA generation

Suddenly everything makes perfect sense "

No I am not really. No. If anything you're the one who's popping up with Fifa logic.
"He scores goals. Sturridge is good on Fifa so he's just as good in real life."

So Dubbed was watching and supporting Arsenal around the time they were winning doubles, trebles, so naturally after such a long time without success he's angry and upset

Dubbed,

I got's ya mate

"We win 1-0. Sturridge has scored the only goal."

So you're happy with some guy scoring a tap in, and does naff all else the whole game?
Even Giroud adds something to Arsenal's play.

I look at a balance of goals scored and what they bring to the team.
----------------
I agree goals aren't the only indicator of a good striker but if it wasn't for Sturridge you could say we'd only be on 3 points this season with three 0-0 draws and 2-1 loss. Surely that is bringing something to the team.

At the end of the day he is winning us games which is exactly what you want a striker to do.

"Yes you are really. Yes."

Oh dear. Oh dear. What a mug. You do realise that article was actually on the Fifa game?
What you think you not playing Fifa makes you any brighter or smarter?

I am mocking you for using Fifaesque logic to your arguments. Went right over your head that one. Just like the whole sport of football.

He is currently the best English goalscorer thats why people love him.

---------------------------

Firstly he doesn't score just tap ins. The goal against Stoke wasn't a tap in, the goal against Villa wasn't a tap in, and the goal yesterday wasn't a tap in. And secondly he does more than naff all throughout the game. He runs the channels, his movement is good, he can pass, he can dribble, he's a more intelligent footballer than people give him credit for.

If Sturridge was that good would Chelsea not want to keep him?

If Ozil was so good would Madrid not want to keep him?

It was in response to Rap. He brought up Walcott. I thought it was a bad example as Walcott isn't a very good footballer.

Ian Wright was a better footballer and a better goal scorer. Welbeck is irrelevant.

Chris, I was wumming Dubbed.

He brought up Ozil's name in this discussion.
Please go and dive into the sea.

I didn't see Lampard or Hazard saying how much they wanted Sturridge to go do you?

"Welbeck is irrelevant. "

Agreed. He is that bad.
