You should of used 'top 5'.... And you're only doing that in order to try and make spurs look 'big'. It's called manipulation. It's always been top 4, of which spurs are not a part of. To widen it to a top 5 just so you don't feel left out just makes you look insecure and backs up your small club mentality.
_________

The question was basically "do you think it's a big 7", and he gave his opinion. Just because that opinion doesn't suit you it's manipulating it? Hmmmm.....

But do you not agree that the term 'big club' isn't just down to your finishing position? I said that saying you're a 'top 5' club would be more accurate. Surely saying that Spurs are a big club and suggesting Liverpool aren't isn't right?

It's a big 4

City, United, Chelsea and Arsenal

below that it's sides hoping to crack it but ultimately fall short

It's not a big anything. There's twenty teams and each have their own targets. At various different times, in different seasons there are more than one, two or even three competing for the title and in some more than four five and six competing for Champions League etc etc.

This big four crap is just what the media have spoonfed the sheep.

I find it boring. The league is about twenty teams.

Sky four
big four
top four
big five, six, seven bla bla!

Maybe I want to refer to the top teams as in the ones that consistently finish in the top 4 of the table as the 'big' teams without the need to attach history, fanbase, success to that word?

Not really. Spurs have been in the top 4 twice in the last 4 years, and 5th twice, missing out by 1 point one of those times. Their consistency as one of the leagues top clubs is deserving of there being counted as 5.

There is a big 5. Liverpool and Everton haven't finished inside it in a while.

No trophies in a decade

Does anybody really care if there's a big 7, 6, 4 or 2???

In the words of Bill Shankly "If you are first, you're first. If you're second you're nothing".

Unless of course you win the CL, while finishing 6th, directly rogering Sprus and there quest for a CL place.

I'd say that was winning!!

So no difference between 2nd and 17th?

I wonder how most fans would feel about that?

There is only a big ONE, and that`s Manchester United, all the others think they are somehow big.

Chelsea and Man City, don`t make me laugh, in all probability would be playing in the Championship without their sugar daddies. Wannabees with cash.

Arsenal, not won anything for donkeys years.

Liverpool, think winning the title a quarter of a century ago makes them a big club now. Living on history.

Spurs, a trophy every decade since the 1950s, hardly makes them big, but not small either.

The rest, your fecccking joking of course.

It's what I expect to hear from an Arsenal fan. Not interested in first, it's the top four trophy that really matters, not winning

sandy_clown,

Winning a trophy decade makes you big then what about Arsenal's 13 league titles? By your words they should be miles better than your joke club, no?

posted on 9/10/13

Sandy. It's funny how a supporter of a small club like Spurs tries to belittle the other clubs that are undoubtedly bigger than them, yet tries to put a positive spin on their own clubs massive underachievement. Small club mentality leading to inferiority complex

Terminator

Your club aint big anymore sunshine, stop living in the past, you are no more than top 6 or 7 side now. Your club has never won the prem in 25 years of its existence, that is not a big club in anybody`s book. You are a club with a 20 year history granted (mid 60s-mid 80s), but then the Wanders had some history in the 1880s, that doesn`t make them a big club, after all they had won 5 more FA Cups than Liverpool right up until Liverpool won their first in 1965, so just because Liverpool won the league a few times in the 20th century does not make them a big club in the second decde of the 21st century. A bit more humilaty from some of you scousers would not go amiss.

sandy_clown,

If Liverpool are a top6 or top7 club merely based on the fact that they finished in those positions in the last 4 years then what about the Spurs that used to finish in the mid-table in their entire history?

Or, one time CL football will redeem your life long mediocrity you clown?
