Alaba is the best LB in the world atm, Shaw will overtake him soon enough though. I swear.
However, he is 100x better going forward (Baines)
Even a teenage Alaba was better than Shaw. I've seen a good deal of Shaw and there's not a single thing he does better than Alaba.
Alaba wasn't a first teamer at 17/18, so not sure how you could've seen him in action at that age to make that judgement...
Anyone who thinks Cazorla isn't world class is severely deluded.
I must be deluded. The likes of Xavi,Schweinsteiger and Iniesta are in a different league to Cazorla, but I do like him all the same. I don't believe Baines is world class either.
Shaw is naturally a better defender than Alaba, not as good going forward but he'll get there
And he wasn't a LB then either

He was at 19. And are you seriously comparing being a regular at Bayern to being a regular at Southampton?
Kamran, top 5 left backs in the world?
No, what I'm saying is you couldn't have seen much of him when he was the same age as Shaw.
Kamran, top 5 left backs in the world?
--------------------------------------
Alaba, Alba, Marcelo, Baines, Lahm (yes, he's still a beast of a LB)
"Kamran, top 5 left backs in the world?"

Not many outstanding ones tbh.
I think Alaba and Filipe Luis are the top 2, the rest is anyone's guess.
In general, today's fullbacks are either great going forward and weak defensively or great defensively and not very good going forward. Not many 'complete' ones.
Alba? he is truly awful. Absolutely shocking defender. Actually, to call him a defender is naive...
Filipe Luiz should be there sheriff
I think Shaw will stay at LB Batmoanu
Tbf who else is there? Alba would probably make mine...
Honestly, how have you just suggested Alba?
Alaba, Felipe Luiz, Baines, Alba, Marcelo?
Anyone Analog. He's very good going forward, but defensively, he's got to be worst LB out of the 'big' teams in Europe
Kamran stop jumping on the alba bandwagon you hipster
I forgot about Luis.
Alba is quality. He plays how he's told to play tactically by Barca and Spain. Not his fault.
Let's be honest here, only Spain and Barca could get away with playing such a defensively weak LB like Alba
Top 5 RBs and top 5 CBs? Go.
