Sir Alex said yesterday that Rooney asked to leave but didn't want to lose his loyalty bonus so didn't put it in in writing.

He probably didn't know what he handed in.

He didn't put an official one in, just told Sir alex he wanted to leave verbally. So he wouldn't lose his loyalty payments.

Didn't saf say in his interview in the States, that Rooney went into his office the day after we won the League and asked to leave with Rooney agent following that up with a call to the suits upstairs indorsing it?

It sounds like a situation when you was a kid at school and the teacher asked why you was off school and you replied that you was sick. So the teacher asked where's your sick note and then you say you told them that was sick. The fact is that you were still sick.

Rooney DID ask to leave just not officially.

Valencias end product was terrible to the point Young played a better game.
