Well yes you could say so. I pretty much felt the only way we could get a win today was by playing like that and getting a bit of luck which was the case today.
Didn't we dominate possession?
cl is about results they won great win too
I remember a couple of seasons ago Chelsea tried to play anti football against good teams and only just managed to qualify for the CL for the following season with a late penalty on the last day of the season. Never wins you anything.
Will they park the bus at OT at the weekend too?, that's my question.
Since when have arsenal ever been footballing connoisseurs?
I think the only genuine "anti-football" tactic is kicking the other team off the pitch. Setting up to counter attack and/or to nick one goal and stand firm defensively is a valid way of playing IMO.
If Arsenal had gone gung-ho against Dortmund tonight it would have been a disaster. The way they approached the game was correct in my opinion and it paid off
No you didn't dominate possession.
kneerash, yes I agree. That's the point of the article.
Liverpool, Chelsea and United have been playing these cagey tactics away in Europe to great effect over the years and have been accused of anti football - just wondering if now that it's finally looking like it's become part of Arsenal's armoury they'll start giving other teams credit?
We'll see if Pellegrini adds it to his armour for the away tie against Bayern. I have a feeling he won't do to the same extent!
The funny thing is they did the same tactic against bayern munich took a bit of punishment but scored from a couple of counters after the home side did near complete domination. It happens in football.
We didn't park the bus or use kicking tactics you idiot. We were the better team in both games and had more possession.
Will be interesting to see, melton.
With Villarreal and Malaga Pellegrini wasn't adverse to playing a more defensive game plan, although they didn't have the same options that City have.

You didn't just park the bus, you removed the starter motor and let all the tyres down too.
Park the bus all you like on Sunday either way you're getting smashed.
We don't park the bus, we soak up pressure and pick our moment to strike, as we have done pretty much all season, even against the likes of Norwich, Stoke and Palace.
Its actually quite amazing arsenal and liverpool are playing much worse football offensively but are probably the two most efficient teams in the league taking chances wise. Man utd this season defending better attacking better but everything seems to go in against us at the moment while we blow away to many chances the opposition gets 1 they score and we drop points. Happened against west brom complete domination for most of the game similar to southampton game.
I suppose thats football, you play well and lose, you play bad and win.
Bats, that's what United, Chelsea and Liverpool have been doing for years and it's been called anti football or parking the bus by Arsenal fans.
i know darren rafa got slated for it for several years but you quickly forget these games especially if you win it, when we drew away to juve in the quarter finals it was a dreadful game where we sat deep and defended but who cares won won it.
I get what youre saying but really it was just something to have a pop over
No, United, Chelsea and Liverpool defend for 90 minutes and take a 0-0 draw.
Not it hasn't. You lot are scared to attack and defend with eleven men in your penalty area. Our tactics tonight is nothing like your cowardly teams have done in the past.
