Are you kidding? Arsenal fans have been criticising the tactics of Liverpool, Arsenal and United for years.
Plead ignorance all you like, not that I'm accusing you, but it's something that has been said over and over every time our sides have done well in games using these tactics - especially when they're against Arsenal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, Arsenal fans, if we're going to be generalising have been criticising wengers tippy tappy and lack of success for quite a few years. This thread is really ironic, you'll find Arsenal fans have been criticial of our 'soft centre' that you guys, the media, and just about everyone under the sun have been banging on about for that period.
There are too many games to mention as we've played this tactic so many times.
Perhaps now it looks like a strength Arsenal now possess they may treat this 'anti football' tactic that we've all been playing for years as a good football tactic.

just look at the game back when u kicked Reyes off the field Rio should have been sent off for bringing Freddie down when he was throught on goal that game u just set out to kick and kick and kick us off the field and u won 2-0 i think and u loved it.

I genuinely don't remember that game - but it sounds as though it is bordering on a decade ago!
Doesn't mean you've not called the football us, Liverpool and Chelsea have played anti football. I am generalising, I agree, as I'm hardly going to remember an extensive list of names of people that have been doing this over the years but it's very much something that is said by many Arsenal fans.
Liverpool and Chelsea fans will agree.
Are you kidding? Arsenal fans have been criticising the tactics of Liverpool, Arsenal and United for years.

A link to these comments might give some credence to what you're saying - otherwise it just looks like you're generalising.
I've never seen anyone accuse United or Liverpool of ''anti-football''. Towards Chelsea? Yeah, I've seen plenty of comments criticising them for ''anti-football''. But not towards United and the Mickey Mousers.
On the whole, the gist of the article is correct - it's not anti-football, it's soaking up the pressure with defensive cohesion and hitting the opposition on the counter. But apart from Chelsea, I've not seen Arsenal fans criticise any other big club for playing a certain way by labelling it anti-football.
United's 2-0 win in 2004 was anti football and this wasn't. Maybe Darren and the Mancs need to educate themselves on anti football as they haven't got a clue at all.

Don't even go there, plenty of examples of arsenal thuggery over the years too, eboues kung fu kick, campbells elbow and the mass assault on RVN.
Darren, you're talking about a handful of wums, and frankly, given the silverware the clubs you mention have won, I have no idea why you give a crap.
The only teams the majority have frowned upon are ones which have kicked our players around and broken their legs.

Well if you play with attacking intent, it quite clearly is not "anti-football".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well even teams like sunderland and stoke play with attacking intent at some point in a match, does'nt mean they're not guilty of defending in numbers for large parts of those games as arsenal were tonight, iv'e heard it described as a "mature" performance tonight, not a breathtaking display of attacking intent, which is a nice way of saying you had to defend for large parts but took your chance when it came.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We never aimed to play for a draw at a single point in the match, I have nothing against playing a style that you need to get the result. And alot of them are forced to due to the differences in resources.
It however is a bit more frustrating when a team that has more resources then you plays in this way, ie City playing for a draw.
United's win in 2004 that ended our unbeaten run wasn't anti-football, as I'm sure Ferguson told United to bully us and get in our faces, but it was one of the worst refereeing displays I've ever seen. Truly abysmal. How no United players got sent off that day will forever remain a mystery.

Pretty much this.
Samir, I don't bookmark comments. I find it astonishing that you've never seen this.
For years people have criticised how we beat Barca in 08. It's very much something Arsenal fans have been saying.
Arsenal fans are always criticising big teams play. They were doing it with City in the CL under Mancini as well.
Come on don't play the ignorance card now that Arsenal have used similar tactics.
Earl Brutus
that RVN cheat deserved it,like Viera said in his book he is a Cheat and a Coward
Anyway let's just hope some of your fans that have been doing this will be more forgiving when another team does it.
As I said, I've not actually said you've parked the bus or played anti football, just measure it up against the definition often given by your fans.
Congratulations on your win. You got it spot on. Had a little luck along the way but you need that in these games.
Enjoy your win, but hopefully we'll beat you on Saturday using anti football.

That paragon of virtue patrick vieira?
Wowser, he's never spat in the face of neil ruddock or received the odd red card in his career has he, don't think Ruud can lay claim to that roll of honour.
Not really sure why Arsenal fans are getting angry at Darren, he congratulated you on your performance and noted that you seemed to have adopted a different approach, one that many Arsenal fans have been quick to belittle over the years when others have done the same.
It's true, today you had a plan and it worked, you were organised throughout and didn't crumble, things that people have associated with Arsenal in recent years. It's nothing to get angry about, it's the truth and you should be pleased that you seem to be doing something about it.
Darren
u will use anti football no doubt about that, thats all that Moyes knows
Earl Brutus
i dont like him or Ruud
''I find it astonishing that you've never seen this.''
Maybe it's because it didn't actually happen?
''They were doing it with City in the CL under Mancini as well.''
That's true, but that was more understandable. Mancini brought in a lot of attacking talent and his tactics were stifling their talents and he was not letting them blossom in Europe. However I think the salient point is people were more critical of him for failing to get out of the group stages twice in a row despite spending excessive amounts of money and bringing in top talent. Granted they had difficult groups both years, but to finish bottom with 3 points was absolutely shameful.
How was today's performance "anti football"? It was a game between to team with similar ethos, quality and style.
Though Dortmund were better overall, I'd say both teams were cautious.
The thing is with the likes of Man U and Chelsea in particular is that they focus on stifling the other team completely. Wenger plays attacking players.
He doesn't drag in Park Ji Sung or play Ramires on the right flank cause Ribery or Ronaldo's there.
P.S. Don't bother mentioning him bringing on the likes of Monreal and Jenkinson towards the end of the match. That's purely to do with our lack of other options.
Straight over your head I see.
