Yeah, this test got draw all over it now

At least India lost

Still a chance of winning this for either side.

We need to bowl SL out today. Ajmal needs to have one of those days that he's not had all series.

UH, not a chance. Lanka in the driving seat, but have always been intent on a draw since day 1.

Good to see India maintain their 100% loss record away from home this year. Sharmas consistency is to be applauded - went for 8 per over this game

Yh I think India have a good mix, but they really need have some sort of vision. Both Sharma's are never going to perform away from home conditions. Need to look beyond raina, who has never gone to score more than his ever consistent 20s and 30s.

Shami was impressive, so was Kohli, but 2 players cannot win matches. Why is India playing 2 spinners? or if they are Jadeja needs to contribute more with the bat.

I hope Dhoni sees that Ishant isnt a International material.

NZ at home are a force, they beat what SA as well from what I remember. So no shame in losing against them.

Still think India will win this series, if they start chosing the right players.

Viru you should create a thread for the NZ V India series?

get mahela and mathews out quick and we could have a sniff here.

Whatever the result here, Paks should retain Talha in the team... Another quality find and he's only 25

posted on 19/1/14

bruv if talha is doing well - the pak mentality is to get rid for the next series

Very true

The problem with Talha, Junaid, Irfan, Gul, Ratty, Ajmal and to an extent Rehman is that they are all number 11s in any other test side. With the exception of Bhatti we just can produce a number 8 who can bat. Bhatti for me still needs to improve on his bowling which is one dimensional at the moment. Look at other test side:

Aus - Johnson/Starc/Pattinson all can bat at 8
Eng - Broad/Bresnan all can bat at 8
India - Ashwin/Jadeja all bat well at 8
SA - Philander/Peterson bat well at 8

To be a top side it seems you need batting depth and with our keeper also poor we have a very long tail.

It's time to give Umar Akmal the gloves in all formats.

I will create it for the next match. Had exams, so didnt have time to make one.

Very true Kash.

Not sure how Umar Akmal finds keeping but if he's happy with it then I'd also make him the test WK.

When Mo Amir makes his comeback, then he can bat at 8

posted on 19/1/14

Amir is back in August 2015 but he has probably lost his touch. It would be a miracle if he could bowl as good as before.

Get them out for less than 300 and then make a ODI out of it

Aus - Johnson/Starc/Pattinson all can bat at 8
Eng - Broad/Bresnan all can bat at 8
India - Ashwin/Jadeja all bat well at 8
SA - Philander/Peterson bat wel

Our bowlers would walk into any other test team ahead of all the above you have mentioned. Agree that batting needs to improve, but we have seen many many times kash, that when we have a full strength bowling unit out there, we skittle the opposition in tests and ODIS.... That being the case, it shouldn't really matter that they can't bat. If out top order can't guide us to even 250 on a regular basis, there's fork all these bowlers can do. Top 6 need to take responsibility for our shrttt batting, not bowlers who perform in a regular basis

****^OUR top order
***^^ ON a regular basis

posted on 19/1/14

STAT: Sri Lanka batted 71 overs, of which 355 balls (59.1 overs) were DOT BALLS!

This series there has been some ugly cricket. I've hardly watched this series. That's how boring it has been.

The difference in this series between the sides has been that the Sri Lankan keeper and tailenders wagged at crucial points. Our last 5 have been poor which again proves my point that we need a strong number 7 and 8.

I haven't watched a ball in this series

might take some time out to watch the centuries of misbah and younis

302 in 59 overs. I bet we don't go for it.

Id rather lose 2-0 going for it.

posted on 20/1/14

They have to go for it kash, ESP until we lose first 3 wickets... Got to mske use of the new ball. Very tough ask though
