Bit ridiculous really players should be mentally ready to play regardless. It's what they do after all.
Rio needs to be put out of his misery anyway. he has been very poor, when he has played this season.

hes not the only one but he is coming to an end
Surely he should be trying just as hard to make sure he's going to be one of those starting....No point in only trying once you know you've been picked ffs.
i think the players are struggling overall with moyes. theyve been spoilt with fergie, mp and rene
Can you imagine if we just sat at our desks, banging on the table and puffing out our cheeks wondering if the boss will ask me to do anything today. Then the relief and euphoria that will come from being given a report that in all seriousness should take 2 days to write but he’s just handed it to you at 2 o’clock on a Friday!!! Get in!!!
Poor Rio

You think Fergie spoilt the players? Seriously?
As for Rio's comments, I really don't know why he would come out with that in public but it's hardly fekkin helpful (If the quotes are correct that is)
I read an article not long back that said Moyes actually works and speaks with every player individually in training if they are playing at the weekend
Sounds like Rio might be a wee bit pizzed off which isn't a good sign (again, if the quotes are correct)
Comments like this are unhelpful. He's maybe looking for excuses for his own below par performances but a manager delaying naming his team until the last possible minute is hardly abnormal. He should shut up and produce some decent performances. If he's playing well then he can be pretty confident he will be selected and it won't be an issue.

Yeh bad form by rio. Adding fuel to a fire thats beginning to be stoked enough by other people. Hopefully this isnt an indication of deeper dressing room unrest because thats how some people may interpret it.
Do managers still do this, leave the team until te match day?
Not very helpful comments from Rio really - maybe he's looking for excuses for his less than stellar performances?
I think Rio has been a great servant for the club but I don't see him being a regular starter anymore and I really can't see him lasting beyond this season.
But if senior players are sounding off about being unhappy then that is not a good sign of things at Old Trafford.
I admit I am a bit worried.
Baz
The slighly worrying bit is that Rio would never have dreamed of gobbing off about Fergie's methods
I just dont get why he did this whatsoever. We have a fight on our hands and he's moaning in public about the manager
(If the quotes are correct I'm gonna keep saying)
He's under MASSIVE pressure now. I don't think he is going to surive it either.
Stormed out of his press conference in record time on Wednesday too apparently.
The summer is going to be the reason he fails, if he indeed does. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
Ferdinand said it because he was being managed by a genius, world class, one of a kind manager. He's not wearing tinted glasses like some idiots here. Firstly the fans are wrong, soon it will be the players are wrong, never Moyes though.
"The summer is going to be the reason he fails, if he indeed does. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail."
It wasn't helpful, but that can't be seen as the main reason surely. Your squad hasn't aged and declined to the extent that it can be seen as not good enough to sustain a decent challenge. He still may well do that, if he doesn't I don't think you can attribute it all to the summer though.
I've said it a few times, but he needs to get rotation of players right and stick to combinations that he knows work where he can. He is used to combatting the opposition to try and get a win when he was at Everton and I think he is still trying to do that. He shouldn't, he should focus on putting the best team he can out and almost forget about the oppostion - focus on United playing the best possible football instead and, far more often, you will win.
(If the quotes are correct I'm gonna keep saying)

"The old manager used to give you a kind of a little bit of an idea if you'd be playing and stuff. "
This quote from Rio certainly sounds genuine.
The way it's going......Moyes will do well to still be manager come June 1st next year.
If it were anyone else.....we'd be singing the "he's cracking up" song.
Anything other than 3 pts tomorrow and the PRESSURE really will be on him, if it isn't already.

he doesnt kno what hes taking on. a massive club with massive expectations and massive fan base. hes in for a tough ride when fans start turning
Spurs just signed a few big names with only the channel 5 cup to offer them.
Money is what signs players. Not a compeition that ONLY 1 team can win per season anyway.
it's difficult to get the top level players without being in the CL. City are a prime example of it, we effectively had to buy two teams to compete - one capable of getting to the top four, and then one capable of challenging for the title.
In terms of Spurs, I don't see many of the players they signed as being right out of the top drawer still, I don't think anyone would realistically argue they could win the title this season with their current squad, and that is with spending the bale money on a lot of players.
