Will the board sack David Moyes if we.....

Moyes need to pick a back 4 and stick with it! None of this Rio in one game, Vidic in the next crap.

He needs Carrick back ASAP and then to build the midfield around him.

He needs to be ruthless with our wingers and tell them straight that their job is to create and if they can't manage that, then drop them.

He needs Rooney and RVP back together and scoring goals.

You need a plan in place if you are sacking a manager, and I don't see who we can take on right now, so we should give Moyes the season.
---

The thing is who are we realistically going to get? And before everyone sits there and thinks we'll sign a Manager and we'll be okay, we need to back the new man with a massive kitty. Our squad needs some vast improvements, which means players going out and quality coming in.

Begs the question, why not give Moyes a chance of doing it? Unless the case is: Moyes doesn't know how to use money well. Well, he was interested in Cesc Fabregas over the summer right? Wasn't his fault the club was happy to bid more for Fellaini than Fabrgeas.

Will he be sacked if we finish outside the top 4? Depends on how it comes about. We could start to show signs of progress, should start to string results together and still miss out but still finish 5th, because we are a long distance off 4th right now. Should such a scenario arise, moyes would deserve to continue as manager.

If results continue as they are, this is a rhetorical question as moyes will be sacked long before the final table is decided.

If I was Moyes I'd play Januzaj left and give Zaha a chance on the right, he can't do any worse than Nani or Valenica. Nani is unbelievably inconsistent and Tony V simply runs down the wing and smacks it straight into the first defender.

We've got 5 games coming up that normally we'd be relishing and where we'd normally start our pursuit of the team/s above us. It's usually where we kickstart our season into action.

But I don't see it that way under Moyes. The team look lost. They look totally out of confidence. They seem to have forgotten that they all played together last season in a very similar, some would say identical, system.

Forgetting Shaktar for a second because we're already through........3 points at Villa is a must. If we don't win......he'll get the sack and rightly so.

I don't see us winning at Villa either.

Shinji,

It was his comment about RVP that concerned me in that he mentioned what people might think had he taken him off after sixty minutes when he was due to.

He shouldn't think about what other people would say, it's worrying that even crosses his mind.

I do think part of it is just the way he says it though, I don't think he gets he will be under far more scrutiny now in whatever he says and so has to be a lot more careful than he is probably used to.

I have been in Blackpool this weekend so only seen brief aftermath, on train home now so dreading hearing post-match comments. What has Moyes been saying?
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
basically he said that the refs were clunts and that van persie should go and suck off a horse, something along those lines.

see if i can find the quotes for you if you want.

We've got a run of games which one would normally think were winnable, but we've just had a run of games which were also winnable and got 2 points out of them.

The way this team is performing at the moment nothing would surprise me.

I thought the same thing melton! I know if he had taken him off, you'd have the whole Fernando Torres being substituted and Steven Gerrard looking baffled scenario that went on for weeks and nobody has ever really forgotten, but at least Rafa had stones to make that tough call.

If Van Persie had got injured further, would it have been worth maybe the point we would have been fighting for.

I noticed that, he basically admitted he was worried what people thought when making decisions. Which explains the constant inclusions of Giggs and Valencia.

This is what I mean when I said he need to grow a pair and be counted.

Baz, I agree, Zaha looked okay when he came on, was close with a shot near the top corner and Januzaj is our best attacking player at the moment.

Defensively, I'm really worried. Vidic and Evans are just past it. Evans doesn't seem up to it at the moment either, he was terrible on Saturday, there's just something about him I don't feel comfortable with.

I think the players just do not have any belief in Moyes at the moment, or perhaps they are struggling to adapt to his style if play. You have to remember, these set if players are the current champions, most if not all of the coaching staff have never won anything and maybe they feel with them telling them how to play, which might be totally alien to them, the players don't like it. Might explain the performance on the pitch, guess its their ego.

That's the biggest mistake Moyes made, getting rid of all of the coaching staff.

I think we can all agree the cracks are appearing. He looked like a defeated man yesterday which was incredibly worrying.

The one thing that was a necessity yesterday was a REACTION after the loss versus Everton.

And the fact the team performed worse yesterday spoke volumes for me. They are clearly not behind the manager.

100% agree. Imagine Phil Neville telling the first team how to play football.

I like Nev, and he's a good honest professional, always was, but I can't see him telling Rooney and RVP how to play football.

Giggs is now on the coaching team, which I bought was a good move. He needs to use the Giggsy stare more often.

Getting rid of the existing coaching staff was a huge blunder.

I agree the back four look dodgy and no one seems quite sure of the best defensive partnership, but the problem lies in midfield, teams just wander straight through our midfield and offer little cover to the defence.

Melt

Agree, I thought he'd have a lot more to worry about than what people say about Van Persie being substituted after a spell out.

Maybe Lawrenson's comments got to him. Was the interview made after the rumour surfaced about RVP's transfer request.

Doesn't account for Evra being caught in behind 4/5 times a game and Evans unable to deal with a strong striker. Or Rio/ Vidic being caught out by the slight bit if pace.

Yeah Busby, good point.

A decent centre back is actually on my Xmas shopping list, but midfield is still in need of major surgery!

It was Shinji, but earlier in the interview before those rumours were brought up.

Good point though.

Surely the Glazers know that a successful Utd is vital to their global marketing strategy.

A club with no European football, not performing on the biggest stage, is not an attractive proposition for investors.
