As a lone striker? No chance.
Walcott was superb up front. That movement created so much space for Gnabry, Rosicky and Santi. And they all used it superbly. This is what we have lacked for a while. The opposing centre backs being drawn out of position creating space for runners from deep coming onto the ball.
I would still use a big body up front in away games because Arteta or Flamini are not the best at winning the ball back. If we can get a Pogba however I think we could play Giroud just behind Walcott and go 4-4-2.
No. But on a serious note. I'd love to see him up there more. The Tottenham back 4 just couldn't deal with him. His pace alone is pure pressure.
What annoys me about Giroud is that the opposition defenders are cruising most of the time. No matter how much he hassles and harries he just won't catch defenders dallying on the ball.
Hopefully, now the naysayers can see what I was getting at.
Walcott gave us a teaser of what he can do.
Giroud presses well, his first goal against Southampton was out of nothing, all down to his hard work and persistence
Fio was alright today, but let's be honest, he missed a couple of a great chances and if Giroud had done that everyone would want him dead
LMFAO
Really? You serious? The one time the keeper just gives him the ball?
Walcott today was 10x more menacing than Giroud has ever been. And it's not even close.
The keeper didn't give him the ball you idiot, he pressured the keeper and forced him into an error. It's not the kind of thing you see every game, is it?
Giroud was far better against Spurs earlier on in the season than Fio was today, he was terrorising them all game. Ignore that though.

I demand respect. At least the respect a father should get. Surely I should get that for bedding your mother?
That's a clear lie bruv. You people only breed within the family. And the result of that is people like you

So does Rosicky. So did Walcott (in fact won the ball back twice to put Gnabry on goal). Closing down space is about speed not body size. Rosicky goal for example.
Walcott missed one chance, curler which went around the corner and the other was a save and the third was he went around the keeper from a very tight angle. Now if you are suggesting that he should have put one of them away? I certainly expect him to. I don't expect that from our other strikers. Walcott was our top scorer last season and that was from out wide last year.
The point is Giroud wouldn't get any of those chances because they came from his fast movement away from the defender. Speed kills. The reason why Ozil/Santi etc have been getting criticised over the past month is precisely because we have been lacking movement up front that creates space for our high quality midfield.
Aaah give it a rest with your random ramblings Jenius. You make absolutely no sense 95% of the time.
Well said Jenius. Exactly my point.
Turn to abusing the poster when you have no useful points.
Walcott did well upfront today.
Maybe not the answer against top defences but I could see him slaughtering crap teams like Sunderland, West Ham, United and Spurs if he got regular games there.
Lol That's all Kamran does. A savage down to the bone.
I made my points on this article a while back. Can't be bothered to do so again.
Giroud gets into plenty of goalscoring positions and presses well, whatever way you look at it. He's a better striker than Walcott.
Giroud ain't even a better striker than Giroud.
Aaah st.fu Dubbed you weapon, aren't you spying on the old dear to take advantage of the next opportunity that arises you sick facker?
