Wenger And Giroud Say No Striker Is Needed!

He's not exactly gonna say "YEAH I WANT A STRIKER!!!!" cause that would push their value up.

Wenger has also been talking about wanting to rest Giroud but said he has no other option.

As always there is a lot of contradiction in comments.
If the right player is available we will do our best to sign him.
If the right player is ungettable then we will not just sign anyone.

Realistically, I don't see us signing a striker in January.

No point signing a a striker if he isn't going to improve the team significantly

I think it will be a loan signing

Wenger knows we have a chance to win it. 2007/8 we didn't sign anyone though we needed a holding player and lost the league.

In the 2004 we signed Reyes and went unbeaten.

this is our best chance to win the title for a very very long time. Yes we have options with Podolski & Walcott however pod isnt a proven epl striker by any measure & theo could get his annual injury. The boost Ozil gave us is what we need with a striker in January, like the boost we got when we signed Reyes. We need to show a statement of intent that the Ozil signing wasnt a 1 off & that we mean business in the EPL & europe in regards to signing players.

We didn't need a holding player in 07/08. We had flamini, Gilberto and Diarra who was barely used and allowwed to leave in Jan

I had a dream the other night that we signed Remy and he scored a hat trick v Spurs
___
Remys decent but i dont think we could sign him, on loan at newcastle & i dont think QPR would sell him whilst he is on loan. Im not sure if you can do that, buy a player that is on loan at another club.

Wouldn't take Wenger's comments seriously. He will be searching for a striker, no doubt.

Giroud's cowardly comments are pathetic, however.

11 goals in 26 games is not a great return.

I like Giroud somewhat but we definitely need a new striker, trouble is we can't/won't find a decent one in Jan so we'll have to make do with what we have.

I reckon we should try and nab Defoe from them lot down the road on loan!!!!!

Giroud's comments just prove that he's a bottler, Wenger isn't as dimwitted as this guy and knows we won't win diddly squat if Giroud/Bentdner remain our only option.

I believe Wenger will use same tactics of not getting the value for money in Jan. transfer. He is never tired or ashamed to do that. He frustrate me at times, i can only hope that would not be the case this time

i cant see wenger buying anyone in jan tbh

my fault, cb, Kolo had african nations and senderos was getting too much playing time.

MAybe he'll do a part exchange of Bendtner and cash for a better striker that can challenge/overtake Giroud as our first choice striker. If nothing else Giroud needs pressure on his position as he is coasting along and 1 goal in 9 games is not good enough for a striker.

I really wish he could have carried on how he started the season. I said then I didn't think he had the quality we need but he was proving me wrong. I really wish he had carried on and Id happily be saying I was wrong about him. Now instead we have to wait to see if Wenger will buy the striker we need if we are going to win the league.

The January window will be mental. What with the likes of Westham, Tan FC & Co buying strikers for 20 million. Good luck bargain hunting with that lot around.
