Good signing. But we knew that anyway. Bayern are going to be a real threat in Europe to the likes of Madrid and Barca for a good few years as yet. Make no mistake.

Seeing as they've reached 3 of the past 4 CL finals and are the current champions I'd say they already are.

2 of the last 3 you mean?

It's only confirmation of a deal that was already done a long time ago.

No, 3 of the last 4.

Inter 2010, Chelsea 2012 and Dortmund 2013

Ah yes, forgot about the Inter CL win.

He's only 25 as well. A lot of their key players are at a good age for them to stay really competitive at the top of European football.

And the ones that aren't have young potentially brilliant players waiting to take over when they are past it.

bayern fc= ruthless fc

example of how to run a club. And nothing wrong with beating your opponent to the ground to stop em getting up.

utd never had that luxury tbh and I feel ferrgie did the best he could have as a manager.

Thats how a facking big club is run. You always go after the best players and not bargain basement players.
We are still stuck with "Be happy in what you have" attitude.

Quality striker contrary to what a lot of posters on this site will tell you.

Who wants Lewandowski when we have Welbeck.

They need to rename it the Bayerndesliga.

Is this anything new though?

I'm not saying it's good for the other teams but Bayern have done the same thing for years because it works. Yet if you look at the history of the Bundesilga you'll notice other teams still challenge for the title and there have been more winners over the past 10 seasons compared to the PL.

posted on 4/1/14

1982, yeah but that's because the premier league had Alex Ferguson.

I bet the premier league will have more winners in the next ten years than Germany does.

posted on 4/1/14

You're probably right about Ferguson although I think it's hard to predict what will happen anywhere over the next 10 years. I'm sure many felt Bayern would go on to win countless back-to-back titles during Hitzfeld's reign in the late 90s, early 00s.

I just don't like it when people make digs at Bayern, it's too easy and cheap, same with Baca over the past few years. All I have for them (and Barca) is great admiration. They treat the fans well, play great football, develop fine players and generally go about things the right way. So many clubs could learn a thing from them.

Bayern have built a team that will dominate their league for the next few years.

That's what happens when you plan ahead

Of course morons on here will tell you over the course of the next few years it's a one team league when they achieve anything casually ignoring the fact that they have put themselves on this wonderful position and it's taken a fair few years to assemble this behemoth of a squad.

Like barcas all conquering side

It's where we could of been if we built on our 08 win in the cl but we rested on our laurels for a fair majority of the following transfer windows. And then in recent ones have basically just said f it and only bought a couple of quality players in the last 4 years. Smh.

posted on 4/1/14

1982, yeah I do agree with that.

At the same time, however, the fact Bayern are easily the biggest and most powerful club in Germany makes it far easier for them to assert their dominance.

It's just the nature of that league. Same with Barca and Madrid being completely dominant in Spain.

it wasnt that that long ago when Munich used to despair about the pulling power of Man United... Owen Hargreaves comes to mind. They accused us as been bullies!

RBW

Exactly, football like everything goes in cycles. Bayern will most likely be there or there abouts for the the foreseeable future but things will always change.

Before the 70s Bayern weren't even the biggest club in Munich. Barca and Real historically have a far stronger hold on their domestic league over a longer period of time.

posted on 4/1/14

Bayern are known as FC HOLLYWOOD in Deutschland. No one likes them back home and they are as arrogant and intimidating as they come.
A club that literally bullies the rest of the league that simply is NOT acceptable.

Bayern are just pure GREED and POWER.

Financially speaking, no-one can compete with Bayern in Germany, so they will always have an advantage.

In England, the likes of us, Chelsea, City, now even Arsenal have money to spend, and teams like Spurs and Liverpool aren't exactly hard up, so it'sa much more competetive market.

Even in Spain it's only Real and Barca. Athletico are going great guns, but how many players will they retain after this season?

So basically if you are based in Germany and want to play for the best, you go to Bayern. In England, Utd to some degree use to have a similar pulling power, and despite what some might say, we are still an attractive club to come to, but there are a number of teams able to compete on level terms now.

Would just also like to remind people that we have rarely gone crazy over transfer fees, especially in the foreign market. Yes we can spend big, but have a history of buying in younger talent, still for large fees, but not yet the finished product - of course there are examples like Berbatov and RVP, but generally speaking a fully established mega-star signing hasn't been our way - that may change this summer, we just have to wait and see.
