what about Joel Campbell it's time he came back to Arsenal and played for us, he can't now, but at least he should be given the chance to replace Bendtner

Trust Me Gervinho is tearing chit up in Italy. Im pretty sure Totti compared him to Messi or Ronaldo a few weeks ago.

To me that tells me the Italian league is slow and rather poor if a rubbish player like Gerviho can become a world beater.

He's come on leaps and bounds since then, Samir.

I don't think a 19 year old failing to make an impact with a Bolton Wanderers side that play rugby would compare to what Arsene Wenger could do with a 22 year old with his talent.

If we had the balls to bid £50m for Suarez rather than the amateurish stunt we pulled in the summer, Suarez may be an Arsenal player now. Biggest opportunity missed.

Giroud won't win us the title. He tries hard but he just isn't good enough for our ambitions. There are at least 10 forwards in the league better than him.

His goalscoring record is nothing special, though. We need players who are clinical and score goals.

He got 16 in 38 for his first season at Benfica, which is good. Then last season he got 11 in 39 which is similar to Chamakh's first season at Arsenal. This season he has 8 in 17, which is okay.

Haven't seen him play, but his goalscoring record doesn't convince me.

He doesn't always play up front, and rarely as a lone cf as that is Cardozo's role.

I just think he is a player that Wenger could work his magic on. When he's played as a cf in the under 21's he's been prolific, so there's goal scoring in him, and he has more to his game than just goals.

I think he's a very promising player. Can see Atletico signing him to replace Diego Costa if he goes. Then he'll score a bucket load there and all your fans on here will be complaining that you didn't sign him.

Well if he proves me wrong, then I'll put my hands up. Can't really comment as my knowledge of him isn't up to scratch but as I said, his goalscoring record doesn't fill me with confidence that he could lead us to a league title.

Yeah that's fair enough. Wenger's transfers this summer will be interesting.

If you don't or can't get a top cf then I wonder if he might buy a potential superstar striker instead, or go for a safer steady option.

I think the following would improve us, which is what it's all about, plus we need some flare and pace up front:

Hernandez
Mirallas
Remy

None would be too expensive and in my opinion offer much more than Giroud. Don't know if Remy can be bought whilst on loan though.

No single player will win you the title on his own.

Two of them are not CF's though.

None of the three are available.

Fergie got Henrik Laarson on loan on loan one season for a few months and eased the workload for the others. Do not know if one of those is going spare.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To be fair though, Larsson scored 3 goals in 13 games for Utd. He was here for his link up play and know how. While he was a very good signing for them, if Arsenal signed someone who came in and did a similar job, the player would be roundly pilloried for that scoring return.

MAdrid did the dirty on us with Gonzalo.

i agree with DTKF - it is an opportunity that won't come around again, what a chance we have to win the EPL this year. break the bank, pay over the odds just sign a striker and show the world we are going all out to win.

if we fall short hey - just like any other season, but at least they would have tried their hardest to win the title buy getting another striker....?

the here and now Arsenal.

the here and now.

Did we sell him too cheap then?

No matter, the Gervinho deal meant Spurs could buy Lamela for a fortune, all worth it

We would never have gotten Suarez. Liverpool have too much of a chip on their shoulder.

posted on 27/1/14

Dubbed they offered him on the last day but for a certain demand. I think if we didnt put that 40m plus one pound bid we would have eventually got him.

posted on 27/1/14

What do you reckon that demand was?
