He is World Class not Overated.

No. I just had to get this off my chest. Mata's being elevated above his station.
This is wrong. It needs to stop.

Disagree. Mata is class and perhaps better than Cazorla. Top signing for United. A real stinker for Chelsea.

Mata>Ozil all day long. And this will be proved come the end of the season.

Mata is a class

Well then you're talking crap.

Don't know about being better than cazorla

Overrated doesn't mean he ain't good. He is world class, no doubt.
But he ain't a patch on Ozil or Silva.

He's just a glorified shaun maloney to be fair

Mata - 18 in 82 for Chelsea

Ozil - 19 in 105 for Real Madrid

These are goals right? Conveniently left out assists right?
You do know we're comparing playmakers and not striker eh?

Bit harsh on Ozil that, Id say he's at least on a Steven Naismith level.

Ozil isn't known for his goals, what are the assist plus goals stats?

One of the best AMs in the league. When playing in a free role I think he can be as good as anyone. Grew up on the wing and only been maturing as a 10 for the last few years.

Comparing the Goal stats of playmakers?!

United paid well over the odds for Mata, no doubt about it. He's not as good as Cazorla either. To suggest he is anywhere near Ozil usually indicates a WUM. Why do you over rate players like this?

Dubbed Ozil better than Silva?

posted on 27/1/14

Because you act like you're the sole authority on player ratings and then come up with crap like this if people dare rate a player higher than another that you disagree with.

Saying Mata isn't a patch on Silva and Ozil is overrating those two because he's very much in their class.

I rate Ozil higher, but rate Mata higher than Silva and Cazorla, but there's not a great deal between them and each have their own strengths and weaknesses, and so it really comes down to preference as none stand head and shoulders above an other.

You'd think people are saying Mata is better than Messi the way you act when people prefer him to Ozil or Cazorla.

Another Arsenal fan bites the dust and joins the ever growing Arsenal filter list..

Best Fulham player 2002/03 = Saha (then signed for United)

Best Fulham player 2003/2005 = Van Der Saar (then signed for United))

Best West Ham player of 2006/07 = Tevez (then signed for United)

Best upcoming Spurs player 2005 = Carrick (then signed for United)

Best Spurs player 2007/09 = Berbatov (then signed for United)

Best Arsenal player 2010/2012 = RVP (then signed for United)

Best Chelsea player 2011/2013 = Mata (United..)

Best Crystal Palace player 2012/13 = Zaha (...)

You're all in our pockets either way, good day!

To suggest Mata's ability is not comparable to Ozil's is the real WUM. Are Arsenal fans so protective of their star signing that they can't recognise the talent of players in similar positions?

Last Season Stats:

Mata:
Pld - 60
Goals - 21
Assists - 29

Ozil:
Pld - 59
Goals - 16
Assists - 35

Ozil has 6 more assists, but 5 less goals. Not a lot in it really.
